They might human traffic small children and deal in drugs and nuclear warheads too!4743hudsonj wrote: »...If you don't send off yours docs its an illegal plate and you have possibly funded an illegal operation that could be stealing fuel and or vehicles....
It's a number plate. Seriously, think about it for a moment. A bit of plastic with some numbers on it. OMFG! drama!0 -
No one is advocating buying stylised or illegal font mis-spacing plates. These sellers are selling "legal to the naked eye" plates with correct font, spacing, BS marks, etc.
Only thing that is not legal is the fact they are not checking docs and/or not registered as a plate maker with DVLA.0 -
OK we get the point that people don't mind paying someone 8 quid to make a plate its cheaper after all over the 12.99 +vat you could have one done same day in a motor factors.
The point here though is, these shed makers of plates are acting illegally, you don't know whether its joe blogs trying to earn extra cash to pay off his mortgage so he doesn't get evicted, or some organized crime racket obtaining number plate numbers and addresses in order to commit vehicle crime, Say joe blogs owns a Focus RS expensive little hatchback, he has a cheap plate made, the criminals then have an address name and number plate and the RS they stole weeks earlier and now hiding in some shed in a field is now given a new number plate, it travels down the country undetected on a legit plate number to get dismantled and shipped out. OR they are waiting and biding time to obtain addresses that house expensive vehicles, it only takes a free ASKMID check to find the vehicle make and model bobs your uncle he has your car later!.
I would rather have a plate made through a motor factor as they are cheaper than some outlets and take my details in and get them same day and I know im not funding joe blogs in paying off his car payments or funding criminals.
