As long as you don't want legal numberplates they are fine.0

If you want legal plates with all the markings (he does the legal stuff small) then this guy is reliable and fast.
Used him a few times.

I have used this ebay seller also and would use him again.0 -
I used a place on eBay and got a plate for about £5. It is fully legal when fitted as it meets all the specs, what is not legal is the way he was selling them (i.e. without seeing my docs).Would you say that to a stranger's face in the street? No? Then why type it on a forum?0

Is anyone else using pressed alloy plates?
I think they look really good on a lot of cars now, as long as they're the legal ones.
The first set of pressed ones i bought were advertised via ebay as legal, but turned out to be nothing of the kind. All your base are belong to us.0 -
As long as they are white on the front and yellow on the back they should be OK.
Seen a LOT of metal plates black/siler on cars. But they are only legal pre 1970 is it? Pre 1973?
One of the BBC TV shows abot fakes raided one the ebay sellers. Working from a shed at home. Selling lots every day.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I have used fancyplates and plates for car and both sets i had were standard font correct spacing and the ones from plates for cars had a dublin postcode on them so they were considered legal
to be fully legal the plate has to be standard font correct spacing and show the supplying dealers name and post code and they should have BSAU 145d on them as well
many of the show plates suppliers do not have this info on them, I ran a car with show plates for Five years and it always passed its mot, but if the supplying dealer and post code are missing then it could technically fail0 -

how can a seller based in England sell these plates without checking the proof of ownership V5 or asking the see a certificate of entitlement before selling the plates3. Getting number plates made up
You can only get a number plate made up from a registered number plate supplier.
The supplier will need to see original documents that:
prove your name and address
show you’re allowed to use the registration number
Identity documents
You can use the following to confirm your name and address:
driving licence
utility, Council Tax or rates bill from the last 6 months
bank or building society statement from the last 6 months
national identity card
The following will confirm your name only:
passport (doesn’t have to be issued in the UK)
bank or building society debit or credit card
police warrant card
armed forces identity card
Proving you can use the registration number
You must bring one of the following to show you’re allowed to display the registration number:
vehicle registration certificate (V5C or V5CNI)
new keeper supplement (V5C/2 or V5C/2NI)
certificate of entitlement (V750 or V750NI) to the number
retention document (V778) (not applicable in Northern Ireland)
a renewal reminder for a tax disc or SORN (V11 or V11NI)
temporary registration certificate (V379 or V379NI)
a number plate authorisation certificate (V948) with an official stamp from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) or Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA)
a letter of authorisation from a fleet operator (including lease or hire company) quoting the document reference number from the registration certificate
so a seller based in England not asking for proof of owner ship is braking the law
the rules were changed to stop ringers and cloners but from what i can see that e bay seller is flouting the law0
