Zabaglione my new favourite dessert, 2 egg yolks, the end of a teaspoon cornflour, squirt of hermesetas liquid, whisk electric whisk until light and fluffy, 3 mins or so, place bowl over saucepan simmering water, add marsala 3 times, small glug at a time, whisking as you go, as soon as starting to thicken remove from heat and eat. according to M.F.P. 157 CALS, 4 CARBS, 10 FAT 6 PROTEIN.

Welcome MMF700, good luck with your weight loss.
Well I've been really bad this past week but I'm back now more determined than ever.
Tomorrow I have to start work a bit earlier than usual so I'll be having Greek yogurt with fruit for brekkie and taking my omelette for lunch. I'll just have a salad with either ham or a veggie burger for tea so a nice easy day to start the week.
I would like to loose a stone and a half and I'm feeling very determined after last week.
Pamsdish thanks for sharing that recipe, I have some Marsala wine needs using up so will drop a heavy hint to the oh to make this next weekend .

Thanks for the welcome Pamsdish and Dustyblind (love that user name!).

I have found that even when I have cheated (never done on a whim, but on hols have allowed a FEW more savoury carbs or one small dessert), I know I can revert to full Atkins mode without feeling guilty at the transgression! Not sure why I suddenly,y have will power?! :T

    No problem shopping, just avoid most supermarket aisles and never been tempted to buy crisps (previously had a packet most days). At home DH happily scoffs snacks, desserts etc and I have no desire to join in. My snack or sweet treats are one of the following;
    Sugarfree jelly and whipped cream
Stewed rhubarb n cream, sweetened with sucralose
2 squares of 75% or 85% cocoa chocolate.
    6 or 7 macadamia nuts
and ocassionally I share a small bag of scratchings with DH.

I haven't got round to making the cauli pizza but will do it tomorrow as I have Tuesdays off :D

Was surprised to find more clothes feeling baggy this weekend. At first I thought it was me putting them on a fast spin that had made them loose.... but it is defo inches lost!

Will take another look at the amazing recipes on here for further inspiration.

So the weekend went a bit off track due to an absolutely rotten cold but back on track from yesterday.

Didn't have time for breakfast (I know! Naughty!) but had an egg white omelette with cheese, ham and mushrooms for lunch. Dinner was an impromptu visit to chiquito's due to me and hubby craving steak whilst doing a Tesco shop last night (religion/culture being the reason we don't cook beef at home...shouldn't actually eat it either but hey ho!...when I married hubby, FIL was very sweet about not cooking it so more than happy to oblige)

Today I've had a couple of cups of green tea, 2 Satsuma's, a cheeky hartleys low-cal, no added sugar jelly pot. Lunch is chicken salad - had to relent and have a snack so had the plain chicken fridge raiders.

Does anyone else go through spells when they're quite hungry on odd days? or is this just me?

Hi Nisha, I think I would feel hungry if I had tea without milk and satsumas (very sugary And acidic so gets your tummy excited, as it were) :)

I can honestly say that in 3 months of low carbing I have only felt hungry once, when we ate dinner very late! Even then it was less severe than previously would have been if I gone 8 hours without food in the day.

I do carry a few nuts and some individual portions of cheddar with me when I go to work so if my lunch is delayed or I need something late afternoon I have a suitable snack and just a small portion of either really does stave off the hunger pangs.

I tend not to eat until mid-afternoon, and I am usually hungry then, I like to have my main meal at that time, I am a BIG meat eater, so plenty meat and veggies, then early evening I don`t feel hungry but "want" something, my danger time, I have been low carbing 18 months or so now, consequently I have very few temptations in the house, and can usually knock up something quickly, my big downfall is scratchings, I love things that crunch.

Am definitely feeling like it's getting easier - the initial dull headache has gone away today...just need to be more disciplined with making enough time for a proper breakfast in the mornings!

Still haven't shifted this rotten cold completely - I think another couple of days and then I can get back in to the gym and really start to see some good results hopefully!

I must say, it's lovely to have a place to check in with others who are on a similar path...thank you for being so welcoming x

Cauli pizza - will have to try again, tweeking as I go (I said tweeking not twerking, ok?!).

I spread the mix on a large cake tin liner and I think that stopped it crisping up any. I also found the mozzarella fairly tasteless. I did enjoy the pizza flavour that worked well and did not taste of cauli. I am sure I can refine it. I 'll just spray baking tray with oil and I 'll use Cheddar and maybe a bit more tomato paste because I was a bit conservative with that.

I reheated the leftover by heating in a buttered frying pan, sprinkling a bit of Cheddar on top and then grilling and it was delish!

I hapily jumped on the scales yester morning because I could feel the weight loss, indeed, another 1lb gone.

Does anyone else get that feeling when you just know you have lost? I can feel the slight
slackening in my tummy fat. Luckily for me my skin catches up quickly so no baggy bits (thank goodness, that was my big fear).

Pamsdish, be careful about not eating till way into the day. I have been told that you should eat just after getting up to kick start your metabolism, otherwise your body is running on empty, having not eaten for, say, 18 hours by the time it gets to mid afternoon.

The only time I ate very little for 2 days on Atkins I didn't lose an ounce!

I am just not hungry before then, but once I start eating I can go on and on and on, not hungry just wanting. I read several articles recently that disproved the "breakfast" myth, also the don`t eat late, I just eat when I want really, and I do have a "good" meal, I don`t do junk food.
I really must try the cauli pizza again, perhaps my meal Sat, I did try it once but a dismal soggy failure,
I feel slimmer some days too, but at nearly 66 my skin is not shrinking too, at the moment I am doing a no scales for a month challenge, weighed last Mon 10st 4lb, then removed the battery from scales, getting withdrawal symptoms already.
