OK I'll bite...
The bag broke and the wine bottle broke and you want what to happen?
Some people tell you to suck it up and you then say THEY are aggressive/facetious/some other percieved slight against you.
and then you tell us we're supposed to be nice because your new?
FYI being nice doesn't mean we have to agree with you or pat you on the back and say there there diddums, yes of course you should never darken the door of the local shop ever again, and hand you tissues, whilst you cry over your spilled wine.
It means that we'll still give you the benfit of the doubt and the benefit of our experience in similar situations but then you'd know that if you'd spent time on this forum and had a bit of a read round on other threads...
a few questions if I may?
What did your husband do with all the broken glass and wine that was all over the pavement?
did he leave it?
did he clear it up?
if he left it, I'm surprised no one with pets or small children aren't approaching you/your husband for compensation for leaving the pavement in an unsafe manner. wine bottle glass is very small and can easily cut dogs/cats paws and wine is poisonous to cats/dogs too.
why didn't he go back imediately to the shop and explain what happened?
I know he went home to give you something for the baby, a pharmacy item perhaps as I can't think of anything else that couldn't wait whilst he popped back to the local shop to see if they are able to help. Hec most ppl have mobiles these days and he could have called or texted you to tell you what had happened and what he was doing about it.
So, what was it you wanted us to say to you about this -
Yes immediately demand compensation from the bag manufacturer,
take the shop to the small claims court for denying you a bottle of wine,
divorce your husband because he can't hold a plastic bag with a wine bottle in it.

As it goes, the first answer I recieved was perfect. I have duly sucked it up. It's just the sarcasm and aggressiveness I have been surprised at. I won't bother answering your other questions as I won't bother dignifying them with a response. I, unlike you, don't bite.0 -
Certainly a few years ago a family member had some 2 litre bottles that had been bagged by the checkout operator at a so called 7/11 type store. He ended up with a broken toe as the bag broke straight outside door onto his foot.
Went back in to complain and get help in immediate aftermath, ended up with a reasonably large donation being made to charity as a result.0 -

You will not last long here...
To be fair you are probably right, I don't think it would be a prudent use of my time to last long here. I was just looking for a bit of friendly advice which i did get from a few people and I am grateful for that.
I wish you all a lovely valentines evening, I am going to stop messing around on my phone now and get back to my cosey evening with the husband.

most of the free carrier bags are rubbish and the shop keepers use them because they are cheap,
I also live in Wales and we have to pay for bags and to be fair most retailers have upped their game and some of the 10P bag for life are very good and when they near the end of their life you take it back and get a new one free of charge
we have been using one bag for over a year now and it is not showing signs of failing
sorry you didnt get to enjoy your bottle of wine
I hate wasting money 0 -
