And I've never seen a giraffe locked up in a cage whilst in the wild either.

So what if a giraffe is not a pet?! If it's a healthy animal, it doesn't deserve for that to happen. Very cruel and if some of you can't see that, then I feel sorry for you!
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T

When I said "giraffe is not a pet" was to support the fact that I have posted this thread on this forum and not on pet and pet care forum.

    Thanks for your support.

The petition has reached 85,000 signatures since yesterday. So glad there are still some people who have heart and feelings. :)

Don't preach...your own animal husbandry given your track record is sadly lacking by your own admission. Do you eat the eggs (embryos) from your chickens?

I would need to find out more about why they are considering euthanizing the second giraffe before I would sign a petition. As it is the animal is being kept in a totally unnatural environment and is apparently unsuitable for breeding. It might be that euthanizing it is the kinder option.

Before you label me, or others, as uncaring you might want to do more research yourself into the issues surrounding this particular animal and captive breeding programmes in general before making a purely emotional stance on the subject.

Having "heart and feelings" and understanding that sometimes tough decisions have to be made when dealing with captive animals are not exclusive things.

Are you going to start petitions for every cow, sheep, pig, chicken etc that gets slaughtered?
After all, these are just animals that are bred and slaughtered whilst in captivity.
