It's more appropriate there though and you'll get a better response from like minded people, unless your real intention is trolling?

They have stated that they will only kill him if they can't find another zoo to take him and that killing is far from certain.

Does not seem like there is much chance of placing him according to this statement.

    Quote:
"She said that it might be possible to find another place for the giraffe to live, but that the probability is small. Like its namesake in Copenhagen, Jyllands Park Zoo's Marius is considered unsuitable for breeding.

"If the breeding program co-ordinator decides that he should be put down, then that's what we'll do," Poulsen said."

Also lets not forget that Marius 1 was offered a place in Yorkshire Zoo. He did not have to die he had a place to go.
  • I believe that with Marius 1, an offer was made to take him from a UK zoo and if this was the case, I'm sure that the same will happen here especially as there has been a lot more publicity.

But your post was also neither a praise, vent or warning - it was a request for others to join a campaign.

Thanks for that, or when we go to South Africa in a couple of weeks I might have agreed to bring one home for my 3 year old.

Then again I could always go to the Carnivore restaurant in Johannesburg and eat one of Marius' relatives.

Vent it is for sure. Not enough they shot him they then displayed and cut up his body in front of young children who came to the ZOO to see LIVE animals. What is wrong with these people?

I have no objection of the thread being moved. Just did not think this should be on pet forum for the obvious reason.

What do you think happens in the wild? Never seen a wildlife program on TV?
