The DFW Band!

OK,

Following on from a discussion on IAs diary, we would like to try and assemble a DFW virtual band.

If everyone downloads audacity to their PC (free software) you can record yourself and save it as a wav file - these can then be sent to me and I can assemble all the different bits into a podcast!

However, so far there's only 2 of us in the band :( so we need a few more!

IA has her new bass
I can play the keyboard, plus sing if neccessary

So... we need a drummer, guitar, singers for definite, but any instrumentalists would be good to add a bit of depth.

The song... A DFW version of Money, Money, Money!

I work all night, I work all day, to pay the bills I have to pay
Ain't it sad
And still there never seems to be a single penny left for me
That's too bad
In my dreams I have a plan
To pay it off, I know I can
I would get to keep it all and DCA's just wouldn't call... (thanks to ZTD! ;))

Money, money, money
Must be funny
In the debt free world
Money, money, money
Always sunny
In the debt free world
Aha-ahaaa
All the things I could do
If I had a little money
In a debt free world

A snowball is what I will do to nix the cards and bank loans too
Ain’t it grand
I’ll Ebay all my lovely stuff but will it ever be enough?
I need a hand!
I will look around the site
MSE, you know that’s right
Where would I be with no guru, hey Martin I’m talking bout you!

Money, money, money
Must be funny
In the debt free world
Money, money, money
Always sunny
In the debt free world
Aha-ahaaa
All the things I could do
If I had a little money
In a debt free world

Please post up your musical talents, and then we can figure out the band (the recordings will have to be done in order starting with the drums so we can get it all in time and tune with each other, so singers will come last - ideally we'll get loads of people singing & I'll cut it so everyone has a line or so!)

I'm going to do the bass from scratch rather than getting the tab... surely it's more OS to do it from scratch that have it premade :rotfl:

I've downloaded it with limewire but I've got it as an MP3... :confused:IGNORE THIS lol

I can kind of sing but I can't sing and play bass at the same time.... :rotfl:

IA - you can record your bass & singing as separate files, then I'll jsut overlay them to make up the podcast - you don't get out of singing that easily!

Triangles, tambourines, maracas etc all gratefully received too - but you do have to provide your own instrument!

I can play the keyboard...will have to dig it out from the back of the wardrobe though. Hmmm....off to see if I can find the sheet music. Are we playing it in the original key....and how many bpm, or can you speed it up or slow it down (oooh, felt like I was in Bucks Fizz for a minute there lol) with your computery thingy?

    Hey,

    I can play guitar...

Don't know how to play this tune...but if someone write's the chord prog up we can probably get something down.

Are we talking about recording samples which will then be overlaid/repeated or do you want a full backing track in one .wav????

    ;)

Actually thinking about this...if we all set our metronomes to the correct tempo we can lay the tracks in any order, annnnnnd most recording software will allow you to record to a click track...no where's my annorak?
