5:2 Diet (part II)

My second fast day today. I've had one cup of tea, a glass of water and 3 glasses of sugar free squash. On my 1st fast day I had a homemade soup at lunch time but I'm going to try and last till dinner time today if possible. I'm just trying to distract myself with lots of reading and odd jobs around the house. Have already walked to dogs for 1 and a half hours, painted the downstairs toilet, 2 loads of washing, fed the ducks and emptied the dishwasher. Off to find another job to do!

I have struggled today
Had a slice ham, two cherry tomatoes and some melon for breakfast
Homemade veg soup for lunch
Vegetable "spaghetti" for tea with homemade veggie pasta sauce, topped with prawns for tea followed by sugar free jelly with a tsp yogurt
However I am also on day 4 of cutting out sugar and processed carbs. So even though I have been eating well on my non fast days, it might explain why I am finding it harder today.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I did struggle, but made it through
Today i weighed 10 st 13lb. it is the first time I have weighed 10 st something for a long time :j i know it is cheating a bit - weighing in after a fast day - but it has given me a heck of a boost.
Non fast day today, but am keeping up with the no wheat no sugar thing. Fruit and plain yogurt for breakfast. Cheese Omelette and salad for lunch.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I had an easy fast day yesterday, I had only had 345 calories by late night so was able to have tea and toast after walking the dogs for the last time of the day.

Fasting again today, my last one (Friday) went over by about 100 cals, this one I am being more careful, had a tea and a cup of veg stock with a splash of unsweetened soya milk, saving as much as I can for post workout (I will have a small piece of fruit before I work out though). The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Hi :j can I join in this thread.
I got a massive shock this morning after stepping onto the scales, (I've avoided them for a while), I knew that they wouldn't be going in the right direction. So after all of my clothes have become a bit of a squeeze, I thought I would try 5:2 diet.
Today is my first day I'm going to be doing Mondays and Wednesdays as my fast days.
So I feel today has gone really well. I have had 650 calories 150 more than I should have had but I'm not going to beat myself up about it.
So onwards and upwards I'm actually quite looking forward to Wednesday, I has been good today to have a bit of control.
So I have 4 stone to lose, can't wait to see the lbs fade away.

So I know it was only my 1st fast yesterday, but I had the best nights sleep last night in a long time.
I got up this morning and stepped on the scales and 3lb gone overnight.:T
I know it's just water the first few days but it has spurred me on to take another salad to work today and hopefully avoid crisps and chocolate.
Onwards and downwards here I come.

I really want to try this diet, but I fear I'd be miserable on my fast days
I can get really moody if I don't eat enough!
Does anyone find that HM soup/cup-a-soup works on their fast days? I was thinking of either buying the sachets or making my own veg soup and taking it with me to drink if I felt really hungry. Obviously I'll have to watch the calories per cup. I think I'll probably skip breakfast, try and keep myself going with water/tea (soup if I'm struggling) until lunch, then have a small dinner when I get home.
PS. I know miso soup is meant to be good, but I don't like it much.
Maybe the moodiness would be carb / sugar withdrawal? When I first cut out wheat and sugar I was desperate for a few days, I nearly tookj a colleagues arm off cos he was eating a wispaand I wasn't fasting at that point. But now I have been off them for a few weeks, I am fine and the fast days are easier
Worth a try?I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Really excited, I got weighed again this morning and I've lost another 2lbs, it wasn't even a fast day yesterday, but I didn't feel as though I had eaten as much as I normally do.
2nd fast day today, I'm hoping to stick to 500 calories today, but if I go over a little I'm not going to beat myself up about it.
I'm also going to try not to get weighed everyday but at the minute because it's a new way of eating (don't want to call it a diet) I'm a bit obsessed at the minute because in the first few days I always lose loads. I just need to keep the motivation once it slows down.
