5:2 Diet (part II)

I really want to try this diet, but I fear I'd be miserable on my fast days
I can get really moody if I don't eat enough!
Does anyone find that HM soup/cup-a-soup works on their fast days? I was thinking of either buying the sachets or making my own veg soup and taking it with me to drink if I felt really hungry. Obviously I'll have to watch the calories per cup. I think I'll probably skip breakfast, try and keep myself going with water/tea (soup if I'm struggling) until lunch, then have a small dinner when I get home.
PS. I know miso soup is meant to be good, but I don't like it much.
5:2 works for some people, and doesn't for others, but personally I only found the first couple difficult. The main thing that took getting used to was the amount of water I have to drink on fast days, I don't think I'd realised how much of my fluid came from food!
@Tink: If you've found a method that works for you then great, however I got the impression from your other thread that you've been struggling to stick to the calorie counting recently?Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

I dunno, just didn't like it lol. Have had it free with a Japanese take-away (didn't like much of the food tbh).0 -
I've lost three stone simply by giving up sugar (which means alcohol) and anything that contains sugar and giving up processed food (why pay for someone else's labour) which also means bread. Therefore no margarine, spread or butter.
Porridge and fruit in the morning, a lot of home grown veg. and a little meat/fish for the main meal. If I didn't have a garden it would be frozen mixed veg and the cheapest fruit.
Main protein is 1litre milk made from skimmed powder. (cheap......25p litre),which gives me three fifths of DPA.(Daily protein allowance)
Go for simple basic foods. No need to count calories, count protein instead (55g per day per person)0 -
I have noticed work colleagues and friends who have lost weight on this diet. The thing that really stands out is just how well they look. They are glowing with health.
I do keep meaning to give it a go. I have worked out Sundays and Wednesdays will suit me best. So just need to put the practical side in.0 -

Good for you but this is the 5:2 thread. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Fasting today had a coffee with 10ml of unsweetened soya milk and a black tea so far. Have HM roast vegetable ratatouille lined up for later with HM rye bread croutons. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Generally speaking I might get 0.5-1lb "fake" loss after a fasting day that is back on the day after. Other than that it doesn't really make any difference which day I weigh on.Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?
