There are a lot of so called 'low grade' benefit scroungers that never get caught but regularly exaggerate and tell porkies to gain a benefit.
Yes, but that only appears to be in your mind, as you seem to feel you are the only one with legitimate disabilities!
Strange, then, that you appear to have so much trouble with assessments, decisions etc., etc.,
You seem to have to fill out more forms and go for more assessments than anyone else, so obviously the DWP feel the need to keep checking on your 'high grade' disabilities..
Lin :whistle:You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
I get fed up with the "my disability is worse than yours" culture that seems very prevalent on here.0

I welcome the checks, it only goes to prove that I have been assessed many times and all of the awards that come from those assessments are a vindication of the state of my health.
I do wonder how you or others would cope with such regular face to face assessments?0 -

I think that more of this should happen. Far too many people have stretched the definition of what constitutes a disability and how it would affect someone.
The DWP are fully aware of the expected and anticipated needs that a particular disability would display. Why don't they work to that instead of having to read stories about how the smallest of disabilities are creating needs far and above what the medical profession would expect.0 -

There are a lot of low grade scallywags that don't get caught in everything.
Low grade tax evasion, shop lifting, rail fare evasion, people who regularly speed in their cars yet everyone always puts benefits on the pedestal.
Why?0 -
I'm sorry but I find your attempt at humour slightly third rate. You know the answer already so why ask the question?
Failing to notify the DWP when holidaying abroad for any length of time whilst claiming ESA, which as you know is a requirement, does not mean that you have to also notify them when you go twitching in the back of beyond in the UK!
Oh right, So i can travel from Devon, for example, up to the highlands of scotland for 6 weeks bird watching but can't go by car on a ferry to north of France?
You really are quite the wind up merchant.
It is a nasty thing to do as some people reading may seriously feel they are doing wrong or won't be allowed to go away so don't even bother trying.0 -

Maybe because it is other people's money that they are stealing?
The likes of you and me that pay tax.
Besides which some that are on benefits see it as a way of life and a way to obtain a regular income that they may not be entitled to.0 -

You can go anywhere in the world if you want to, but should you be in receipt of benefits and ESA in particular, you are required by the DWP to advise them of your travel plans before you go. There is no length of holiday just as long as it is abroad for 1 day to 1 year. How much simpler can I put it?
I have already posted what the DWP have to say on the subject. Mind you, I suppose you pick and choose what rules to go along with as long as you think that they are reasonable.
If you want to stay in the UK then there are no restrictions on notifying the DWP - only holidays abroad.0 -
Yes we know.
Thank you so much for all the information.Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy - Anne Frank :A0
