I don't know if you are saying this thread is irrelevant to this forum or not so please don't take me wrong.

This thread was about threads that were being closed/deleted/edited in the competition forum so I thought this was the correct place to post ;)

Then it's probably best to post in site feedback - forum policy & rules discussion.

Any posts are relevant if they are connected in any way with comping. Both threads being discussed that were closed were connected with comping and the comping forum in general so of course they were relevant and should have been posted where they were. Yes this could have been posted in site feedback but its not incorrect for it to have been posted here. Not sure now what topics are allowed now as we obviously can't be trusted to be left on our own without a babysitter. Lets also be clear as far as I can see admin aren't closing them the mods are. This could be based on legitimate flouting of forum rules which I can't see, or personal opinion which is a slippery slope to go down.

That aside, I can only reiterate that I'm sure anyone actually being affected by the discussions involved and feeling bullied in any way has an absolute right and should report it. Anyone else who simply decides they don't like its direction, should plainly stop reading it. To contact a mod and say 'should this be closed I don't like where its going' when they are not directly affected by it should maybe take up knitting or something to fill their time. I fully expect this thread to be closed pretty soon.

As far as i can see, any question in regards to how the board is being run or "moderated," regardless of the sub-forum, is asked in site feedback or eventually gets moved there (e.g a thread i read on the marriages board yesterday asking why a thread was deleted is now in site feedback.)

That is why i suggested it. That's not to say it's irrelevant to other parts of the board - it's the best place at trying to get an answer from those at MSE themselves.

I actually agree that the moderating on this forum (in general) can be a bit ridiculous.

However, i'm not "shocked" as i've seen the same complaints in site feedback for months.
  • Hi everyone

Just a reminder that the Forum isn't moderated at all.

If you click the picture at the top you'll see the info about our Forum Team and how to report.

All your points above are answered in our Forum Rules.

If you're ever unsure you can always find the link to the rules at the very bottom of the website.

I'm going to close the thread now so you can all get on with comping and hopefully winning! :)

    Andrea :)
