Such a lovely day today. I have got a load of washing out on the line. Mount Washmore was actually quite up to date for once *shock* so I only had the one load.
Yesterday I took LMG into town to buy some holiday clothes. I took money from her account to cover. We had a lovely wee day. She was happy to go to Primark to get all she needed (and a couple of wants too ). She got loads and it was cheap as! Unfortunately I am not an average size so cheap clothes look ridiculous on me. When I buy clothes I have to pay a bit more for them in order to make me look "normal". Otherwise I am a laughing stockHence the reason that I own hardly any clothes and the ones I do have I have had for years. I have looked after them, they have lasted well and I can't afford to buy very often. MSE-wise it is brilliant. Not so great for my feelings though when I see people in lovely clothes and I am tramping about in stuff I have had for a decade. Still, I tell myself that they probably have catalogue/store card/credit card debt to have those great clothes. I don't!
Just about to pop to the supermarket for juice, and ice lollies. Got some change in my purse from yesterday's trip so will use that.
No other news today. Just enjoying a well deserved day off.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

What a lovely weekend I have had. Spent the whole time with LMG and part of it with my sis.
The gardener quoted just £20! I bit his arm off! He came round yesterday and cut it. He made a fantastic job of it (I suppose it is his day job right enough) and even took away the cuttings. It looks lovely and I can't stop looking at it. I have cut the grass out the back and I know how horrible it is when it is like that so I gave him £25 (since his quote was well within my budget). I am sooooo happy.
LMG is away back to school today. I misread the school holiday dates and took today off too. Oh well. Have had a nice, relaxing day. Dropped LMG off at school this morning then went for the grocery shop. I have to work the whole day tomorrow so I decided it would be easier to just get it today. LMG came home for lunch and other than making her lunch, I have done very little else
Over the past few days I have managed to put £10 into bestie's hen fund
Transferred £6.07 over to the buyout holding fund.
£30 to birthdays account, £30 to Christmas savings, £20 to LMG's account.

INOD thank you. I also managed to spend a fair bit too
giblet hello and thank you for postingMy diary is really a bit of a ramble, what ever is in my head at the time. Once the big holiday is over I will hopefully be able to make bigger dents financially.
Brought lunch today and remembered to take chilli out of the freezer for the tea so no spends planned for today. I have £6 in my purse and I want to make that last until Friday when I am meeting my friend for our weekly lunchtime drink.
When I made the chilli I spilt the sugar as I was putting it in so it was more like a tablespoon of sugar that went in rather than a teaspoon. It does taste a little on the sweet side. I have been having a search online to see if there is a way I can counteract that. The most straightforward way seems to be to add some more chilli powder and more cumin. I will need to be careful with the chilli powder though. As much as I LOVE spicy food, unfortunately the illness rears it's ugly head whenever I even so much as overdo the mustard on my sandwich so just a sprinkling extra I think.
Right, got a few more diaries to catch up on, then I will catch up with the small pile of work I have beside meMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

A vote here for the cumin GAP
that's how I normally fix it when I've overdone the sugar.

I added just over a teaspoon of cumin and a "splash" of chilli powder and all was well
Thanks giblet for that bit of support.
Still have £6 in my purseAlso, I have £10 in the bank which is the remainder of the grocery budget from this week. It was actually £9 odds but I rounded it up in case I needed to take it out the cashline. I will just keep it in there for now. It will get used over the weekend though as I forgot to get pickled onions for LMG and I wanted the same pizza as we had last week as that was lovely but they didn't have any.
Finishing at 2pm today (instead of yesterday) and LMG has a dancing lesson in Dunfermline this afternoon after school so no rest for the wicked here ;) My mum pays for the lessons (that was the deal when she started dancing as my mum is a dancer and wanted LMG to go) and we came to the agreement that we would go halfers on the petrol when we have to go to Dunf. She is giving me £5 each time. I am not sure that is half, I feel like I am ripping her off but she insists. She expected to pay more and is delighted that it is not as much as she thought. I will see how it goes.

Even if it is a bit more, your mum probably gets a kick out go being able to spoil little miss gap and is happy to help you tooMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Yes to both INOD. Thing is though, we were really hard up when we left her dad and my parents have helped out so much over the years. Now that I can afford to pay for things myself I feel even more guilty! Anyway, yesterday I told her I had worked out the rough cost of petrol and also told her that I would rather we went proper halfers than her paying more. We now have the agreement that she will pay for the dance lessons (£3 - that was always the agreement) and will pay £3 towards petrol each time we go. I will pay the other £3 towards petrol and that is roughly half each. We are both happy with that
Finally it is the day of payAll pots looking healthyish.
£206.51 in holiday savings (1p interest!)
£84.70 in emergency fund (should be £297.39 but have been a bit spendy)
Got the £40 ready in holding pot to go to buyout fund but I am waiting for confirmation that my new ISA is open before I transfer it.
Got £22.81 in my purse as I had a hot choc (£2.30) at lunch when I met my friend. I also had a cheese twist (89p) for lunch as I couldn't resist it when I went in for milk this morning!:o Plus £20 pocket money for this week in now too.
Still got £10 left in the grocery budget.
£3 in the petrol extra fund. I will put each £3 that my mum gives me into a pot to top up the petrol as required.
I have incorporated a clothing budget for myself. £20 per month. I don't expect to spend that but I realised that I needed to put one in. I was out with my sis last weekend and she needed new work trousers. I have hardly any clothes (think I have mentioned that before so won't drone on) and realised that it would be a good idea to budget for some just in case. I really look after my clothes so I don't expect to need many but at least the money will be there if I do. I know there is a space for clothing when people put up their SOAs
Getting my hair done tomorrow (budgetted). Looking forward to that. It is my treat to myself.
My current accounts are filled ready for the dd's to come off on 1st.
