Just wanted to share my good news with you all!
After three gorgeous grandsons, my first granddaughter was born at 5am this morning.
I'm absolutely delighted and can't wait to see her later today:j
Congratulations Zaksmum, :j. Hope baby and mum are doing well.
After 6 grandsons my mum has given up on a granddaughter and it's upto the elder grandsons now to start their families before we can perhaps buy some pink dresses.
Of course all babies are precious and enjoy yours as you know they grow up too fast! X
Happy moneysaving all.0 -
Just been to see the little one and she is adorable - I can't stop smiling! And made sure her big brother got a present from baby - it's so sweet to see how much he wants to help mummy with the baby because he's such a big boy now.
I'm really so delighted!0 -

Aww, Zaksmum, that's lovely. Congratulations to all and I wish the little one everything that her parents wish for her and more.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
Congratulations zaksmum! of course your delighted - as you would be if it had been another boy!
not getting into the gender argument - the baby will go her own way anyway. so its a moot point.
I have six grandchildren, 2 boys and 4 girls, and remember feeling such excitement at each birth. and my first meeting with each baby is etched on my memory forever! its so exciting and our reward for bringing up our own children!
Enjoy hun!0 -
Congratulations Zaksmum! And welcome to the world baby granddaughter! Enjoy the full girly experience!
I remember when I was pregnant being fine with whatever I was going to have, as long as it was a healthy baby, etc... but I was secretly chuffed when DD popped out because I'd been gazing longingly at baby dresses!! I don't go a bundle on the frilly stuff, she had afew howlers given to her as gifts and we only put them on her to take photos and giggle, but I enjoyed shopping for clothes for her much more than I ever did for DS. I've still got her little pink stripy jersey dress with matching pants that she wore to leave hospital. I couldn't tell you what DS wore to leave hospital!
She does her fair share of boyish stuff though, she played two seasons as the only girl on an under 9's and under 10's rugby team, and is also through to national finals in a schools football tournament as part of her school football team (even if her astroturf trainers are pink - her choice). But although she's now 10 she still loves nothing better than a dress that will puff out when she spins around. I don't think she's been "damaged" by my choice of girly clothing, and I'll certainly encourage her to do whatever she wants to do in life (even if her abiding ambition has been to be a hairdresser for as long as I can remember
:D).
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -

You're right meritaten. I was over the moon with all my grandsons too, all special in their own way.
The eldest boy because he was my first grandchild. The second boy because he was a much wanted little brother for the eldest. The third boy because he was my daughter's first child...and now this darling little girl.
How did I get to be so lucky?:)0 -
congratulations x0
