Drove all the way home having minor panic attack, walked in the door with tears in eyes how stupid is that. The plumbers have been really accommodating and talked every option through with me so I know exactly where every pipe, cable will be running etc, that's OCD for you. I had it in my head what was happening and it changed and like you I am not good with that. :eek:

I am sure I will be fine once it's done, I wish I didn't feel the way I do as it is so silly. I have shut myself in the lounge.

Awwww, it's not stupid.
I nearly cried when I saw the finished bathroom (I say finished, but it wasn't quite as still needs skimming and painting).
It was nothing like I imagined. I didn't want them to think I was ungrateful for the flooring (we had bare floorboards for years so any kind of flooring down is a blessing!)

We are going to have a big hole to plaster where the ancient boiler was, they stopped making it 1986 was G rated I think, well whatever the lowest rating is at the moment. So l do have lower gas bills to look forward to I hope. :money:

It's the first step forward on a long journey of building works we will be having done when mum's bungalow completes sell, luckily this one is mostly being paid for by a grant as ours is a harder to treat property with failed cavity wall insulation too. We were only looking for information on the best way to do our home improvements and were shocked we were actually entitled to a grant.

So rather than have them running past my back door step I have to have the water pipes running inside my kitchen as boiler will have to be opposite side of the room.

I'm not good with these sort of things, other choice was having all the upstairs floorboards up and not sure I could cope with that either. I wish I was the sort of person who didn't give two hoots about this sort of thing.

Have electric at the moment but looks like I will not soon as to be on the safe side while they are drilling new hole they are going to disconnect power. Oh dear not looking forward to the dust.

you sound so much like me....I'm dreading the work starting on our conservatory in a few weeks time...the rest of the family are dreading me being around too...so much to the point that my DH is considering buying me a stack of paperback books and booking mr into a travelodge down the road so I dont have to witness the work going on....or indeed the workmen bringing all the bits and bobs though the house as we have no usable back access....
I think im one of those people who need to be out of the way when work is going on...then come back when its finished....even though ive been told they will minimise mess and dust and use sheeting etc...I still dont want them walking on my carpets!!!!!
