just had bt infinity and bttv installed but weak signal

But getting the error yvm302 weak signal , this is on standard definition channels......I reseated both cable ends and restarted the youview box but still the same

Bbc channels seem ok it but doesn't want to show itv , c4 etc?

Yet we can watch all hd channels......

The thought of calling bt gives me shivers , anyone got any advice ?

It could just be your aerial and a borderline signal. ITV and BBC are transmitted on different multiplexes, at different frequencies. So the reception quality can vary quite a bit between channels.

While this is true, it's normally the HD channels which disappear first in that scenario. The OP is complaining that HD channels are not affected.

Dan-Dan, go into settings and check the aerial signal strength and quality. Then post what they are and how many channels the box detects.

It would help to know the OP's location, which transmitter they are receiving from and how old the TV aerial is. It sounds very much as if they have an old "grouped" aerial from pre DSO days which needs replacing with a wideband or different group aerial

Hi All

I am stressed because the good quality cable i bought and connectors is now routed behind freshly fitted skirting and chased into the door area etc etc and carpet coming tomorrow!

basically , we get BBC London , on SD , along with BBC2 , then channel 3,4,5 nothing , but the error i mentioned , then all OK again inc ITV3 until C4+1 , MORE 4 , nothing , then all the qvc etc all OK , inc 4 music

Then go onto the HD , 101 , 102 , 103 104 105 , 507 onwards all OK! , can record BT Sport HD and SD as those channels are also fine!

We are LU7 , i think Sandy ?

Aerial strength not sure how to check ?

channel 511 for example , is playing in the background , but says 0% signal strength and 0% signal quality . is this because its coming through the infinity ? i thought my aerial did all the work until using on demand and catch up ?

I wonder if the box has tuned to the wrong transmitter?
I don't know the Youview box at all so maybe someone else could talk the OP though checking that?
