We changed from BT to Sky , we had 2 months left on our contract initially they said there would be an early termination fee but when all was done and dusted they owed us £60 !
We didn't need a MAC code.

What have you all done with your old BT /Open reach equiptment ?

I did pay the £30 for cancelling my BT broadband last year, without switching to any provider. Not a big loss, as I got BT Infinity as a new customer subsequently, and got £100 Sainsburys voucher.

It's actually all our fault, because we all pay too much attention to the headline monthly cost. BT, Talktalk etc. can certainly not charge these discrete items by incorporating them into the monthly amount. We then punish them for doing this by not choosing to use them.
