Oh and one thing to add is if anyone ends up needing a c section and gets really bad shoulder pain tell the midwife. I had awful pain in mine but it wasnt until a couple of days later that it was hurting when the midwife popped in and I told her. Turns out it was do with gas so she gave me something peppermint based and it went after that. This was had been one of the issues I was having with breastfeeding as it hurts so much I couldn't get comfy so thought I would share with you all to avoid anyone else going through days of pain.x0

Shoulder pain is often caused by air in your abdominal cavity pressing against your diaphragm. It's one of those weird referred pain things where the pain is in a different location to the cause. My sympathies ThinkPink as I've heard it's very painful. Laying flat and remedies for trapped wind (such as peppermint) can help. I'm glad the midwife had something that helped.
For those that were considering going part time but wanted to know more about how it would affect their pay then this site is good:
http://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/salary.php
If someone was full time and wanted to drop to four days a week but see whether it was worth it then find out your weekly take home pay. Then take 20% off your full time salary and see what your weekly take home pay drops to. The difference between the two is what you lose each week in your salary for that first day (due to the tax free allowance often the first day off loses you the least take home pay). If you take off the costs you will save by not working that day such as nursery and travel you can see whether you'd be better off not working that day, or the cost is worth it to you.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
Sorry you had to be in longer than you'd have liked ThinkPink but glad you're home now with Seb.
Finally got rid of the builders today! They're fully paid up and gone!
Agreed to take money off for me having to finish off the floor. Had to redo the guttering as they'd done it all wonky and it was already leaking.
It's fine now...why they're so rubbish I don't know - they seem to be getting a lot of work for such mediocre tradesmen!
But really I don't care, it's such a huge weight lifted just knowing we've got our home back to ourselves againMortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

I dont post often as life and work seems to get in the way of my internet surfing but I'll try to catch up whenever I can!0 -
Hi newcook, welcome over! I hope you've been keeping well so far, wishing you a happy and healthy remaining few months
Glad to hear to builders have vacated Freddie, I hope there isn't much left for you to do.
I need to have a look into baby bank accounts in the next week or so... hoping to have one picked out ready to open for him.
Christmas shopping is mostly there, and started wrapping things too :rotfl:
10 days remaining going by EDD
Bump feels lower now and baby quite active in the evenings. Still keeping up swimming but hoping he stays put until at least the end of next week as I've got a few bits and pieces to get sorted :rotfl:
I hope everyone is keeping well?0 -
Would be interested to hear which savings account you go for beckyy as I've started looking into it, but have to admit I'm quite lazy and tend to go for easier options (such as sticking with my current bank) rather than shipping around for the best deals.
Sebastian is all official, we went and registered him this morning so we can now set up his bank account and send off the form for child benefit.0 -
Beckyy if you find anything you think is useful re bank accounts please let us know... I would like to open one as soon as I can to get saving xBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16
