I'm looking at getting some arnica tablets, is it worth getting the cream too or would taking the tablets do the same thing?0
-
Princess Kate, from what I've read, the arnica cream/balm should not be used on broken skin but if it's "just" for swollen bits I don't see why not.Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0

Thanks Aunty, it make more sense to me to apply a cream in that situation, if you know what I mean. Boots have the tablets & cream on 3 for 2 so I think i'll get 2 tablets & 1 cream. I guess just don't apply it if you have stitches or where they are......oh the joys!0

Oh dear aunty p, crutches and a wheelchair what a nightmare. Are you signed off work or on mat leave already?
I am worried about coping with pelvic, bum and back pain. I work 3 days at a desk job and these are my most difficult days, I feel like going off sick but feel guilty and also worried as if I went off sick again it's my 3rd bout of sickness in 6 months and they give me a warning. Seeing midwife Thursday so will run by her the pains etc no one mentioned seeing a physio or getting any support when I called mat helpline earlier this week.
9 weeks till due date and 7 weeks left at work phew!:jMarried 16/07/2010, ds1 born 11/08/12, baby due 08/05/20150 -
Jedi, pregnancy related sickness can't be counted towards any warnings regarding your levels of sick leave.
Mention it to your midwife, mine referred me to the woman's health physio class, I had a few one on one physio sessions & was going to go to the weekly class they hold but the next availability is 7th April & I'm due the next day!
My back has been really achey this week, sleeping now involves a host of pillows!!0 -
Jedi - as Princess Kate says, if it's pregnancy related it should not count towards any sort of general sickness absence record.
Yes, I've been signed off - by my lovely GP! So I've finished about 3 weeks before my official mat leave. Was a bit strange not finishing things off as I was planning and of course no hand-over but my line manager was being rather stupid and unsympathetic and unrealistic about what I could do. On my last day in, I had my crutches and the nurses were just "what are you doing here with those?" - bear in mind the office is on the top floor and no lift!!! So the nurses basically sent me home and said they didn't want to see me again! (in a nice way!)Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Thanks for the duvet under the sheet tip-will try that tomorrow.
auntie P if she's not a specialist, then where does she get off speaking to you how she did?! Sorry, but I'm a bit gobsmacked and angry on your behalf?? You'll have to let us know what your midwife says?
I'm glad you're sounding positive about the whole mobility situation, I imagine the relief must be incredible. Sorry your mom probably can't staythat's pants.
Aww princess Kate I understand about the sleeping thing-it can can make you miserable, hope you're getting naps in during the day if you can?
missy gentle hugs for your back pain, hope it eases a little. Glad it's not stopping you sleeping though (tell your hubs it's good practice for when LO is here :rotfl: )
Hugs to all those achey people, sorry I'm on my iPad. And can't see names properly!
Can I have a moan? I can't get comfy, can't sleep, feel sick, am exhausted, and so ready for bubs to rock up now, and if one more person says 'you still pregnant?!' I won't be responsible for my actions!
Oof, feel better now. Sorry for the whinge, I think the closer I getto my due date, the more slowly the time goes! Only two weeks to go ( in theory), so it could be any time now.
I was on an interview panel today, and spent the afternoon on a chair that was about 6" off the floor, so am more uncomfy and grumpy than normal. Takeout and darts on TV for me tonight.'By all means let's be open minded, but not so open minded that our brains drop out.'0 -

me too please, ready for a moan - I've been awake half then night, can't get comfy anywhere, thankfully I don't feel sick but I've definitely had enough this time around, and I still have 10 weeks to go !
Hope everyone can relax a bit and take it easy now it's the weekend0 -
