The email don't really sound like the sort of thing you would do, the person don't seem to know who you are. So I think people aren't going take that much notice...
Why don't you send out a full emailer tell people of the problem.... also
I though it was illegal to sent spam email to business email address under UK law, so if you know of anyone who received this email into business email account then they should be able to contact the cops....
Check the header information on the email and see where it came and ask his ISP to close him down.
Thanks
ian

It came from an already blacklisted host unfortunately... - it's been added to global spam filters and the site is already blacklisted with several AV companies URL filters - So make sure you keep yours up to date everyoneDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Martin - why don't you refer to it in your weekly Money Tips e-mail? That way we would know it was not genuine and you could warn a fair proportion of the Money Savers.
Or am I stating the obvious???0 -
Hi Spikeybabe,
I get several Emails and at least a phone call a week from a crook.
I've just this minute had a call from a "young ?" man - poor little muppet, he had the thankless job of trying to get me to agree to a "free advice" visit from a specialist in inheritance tax avoidance.
The muppet knew absolutely nothing about the service he was trying to sell and I could not get him to agree that nobody gave out free advice (except perhaps on this forum !) and therefore there had to be a big commission in the service being sold.
Just try going to the local cop shop and explaining that someone has stolen a thousand pound from your credit card or bank account. That is as real crime and the police still won't want to know you.
Sending someone garbage electronic data may be technically illegal BUT the Americans won't extradite the people over here to stand trial, even if we knew who they are.
"Buyer beware & a fool and his money are soon parted".
Take care,

Not as simple as that I'm afraid...The mails have been added to SPAM filters but very rarely will spam mails actually originate directly from the real scammer. They will either hide it behind ficticious addresses and details or people who have a bot on their machien can be "hired" by people will ill intent to use as a zombie "army" (sorry this is kinda geek talk...) and these machines will act as the mailer, but again hide behind another address to prevent detection and therefor clean up...
Confused yet?Ok in short it's not as easy as it seems to get someone shut down because they are VERY good at hiding behind many layers of protection
Best advise is if you get one of these messages then please report it to your AV software vendor who will add it to their spam filters and investigate if there is malicoius content on the site and also let MSE know if the message differs greatly from the one above as it means there might be a 2nd edition/strain out there

Is it?
Oh yes, so it is. My apologies.
Perhaps it should be more prominent? Human nature being what it is I suspect some people, like me, read only the first few items and then think "Nothing of interest to me here" and don't bother with the rest. Just a thought.0
