I'm so sorry to hear that
sometimes these things just happen. I will reiterate that it does get easier. I'm sure he knew he was loved. Thinking of you and your daughter. 0 -
I just can't quite get my head round it, I feel terribly guilty for not noticing he was ill. And I can't begin to imagine life without him.
I hope this gets easier, I know people say they are only cats, but to me he was so much more0 -
As silly as this now sounds, and I didn't think to ask, what do I do. Obviously my little man is still at the vet, do I take his body, do they cremate him for me. I have no idea. I didn't think to ask tbh.0

I'm so sorry
Vets can usually arrange to cremate at a cost, or you can take the body for burial. We bury all of ours in the back garden. "Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000 -
I'm so, so sorry to learn of your bad news. As Tiglath says, the vet can arrange a cremation for you if you don't want to bury him at home. There are some lovely decorative pet urns available these days in which to store his ashes. I bought mine online so the crematorium returned my cat's ashes in a plain cardboard box which helped to keep the cost down.
It will get easier in time but you'll never forget him :A“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

So sorry Blindsided. Cats are very stoic and sometimes it does take a long time to notice that they're ill. And as for him being "just a cat", no he wasn't, he was a member of your family, one of your babies. I know you feel awful but it will get better. My thoughts are with you.

Some people only exist as examples of what to avoid....0 -
I am so sorry. this wont mean much right now but, at least he didn't suffer for long. 9 is no age for a cat, but, humans die before their allotted 'four score and ten' too. Take comfort in that he was a well loved cat and lived a good life with you. my condolences to you and your family.0
