renting is horrible:( sigh. roll over and do what they say with what ever scam or madness they doing or prepare to fork out another £1000 plus to move properties again. not long done it b4 xmas. my wife is 8 months pregnant i just dont want her to have to be explaining to anyone at the door that person doesnt live here.
i was working nights and was trying to sleep when royal rang my bell and banged the windows like some baliff in morning for post that isnt for me. !!0 -
i have returned dvla letters with not known at this address (made no difference)

ive spoken to landlord he lied told me bil was going to change address.
ive suggested he arrange with royal mail for post to be diverted looks like he doesnt want to do that.
if only he was as enthusiastic as he is breaking his neck to get hold of his post to fix the oven!! (that i cant use) spoke to him to many times about it.
i know once he get that license i wont see his !!! for dust and no oven will get fixed. sigh!0 -
Don't answer any texts, if he keeps turning up, dont answer the door, he will get the message. Just bin the mail if you have already tried returning it.0

BTW you can open the mail quite legally if its been posted through your letter box with your address on it.0

You are unlikely to have police constantly at your door. If they do show up, simply tell them that you are a tenant, that you do not know BiL and that he doesn't live a the property, and give them the Estate Agent's details as being your contact with the Landlord.i just dont understand why his brother in law cant use his own address?? whats the problem? the last tenants let it slip the landlords brother in law has driving offences hes been banned twice for car theft. so it worries me im constantly going to have police at my door.
What I would do would be to write to the landlord formally asking that he not allow anyone to use your address, asking him to ensure that his own post is redirected rather than marking post 'RTS' would be to redirect it to the Letting Agent - it then becomes their problem, not yours. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
Any, getting back to your queries. I've never had a driving licence sent out recorded delivery. It's just been sent using regular 1st class post so I'm not sure what has been sent to your home.
UK Border Agency visas are sent out recorded delivery as are passports. Any other stuff?
Sounds like there is a lot of dodgy dealings going on. Maybe time to move on and away from all these problems? And away from a broken cooker too.
To protect yourself, return all post to sender. Tell the signed for postman that that person doesn't live there or post the card back if it has details for that.
Have you checked with your local council to see if anyone has illegally registered themselves as living at the property?RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
