I also fell for this website. I admit I thought it would save time, and did not read the T&Cs or prices tabs. I thought it was suspicious when in the payment process it did not express how much I was paying, there was no means of checking this before accepting as you would on a reputable website.
When I discovered I had been charged £70 I phoned DVLA who, of course, had no record of my application, but were "aware" of these other websites working on their behalf.
I was in email communication with dvla-driving-licence.co.uk after that phone call and they offered me a refund. Reading their T&Cs they do offer a refund as long as the application has not been processed, and they take off £8, and within 48-72hrs.
That was a week last Fri and still no refund....and the website has mysteriously gone down as well?! I have emailed a couple of times also with no response.
I'd just like to ask has anyone received a refund from this company?
Does anyone have the contact phone number for them, which I did not copy down before the website went offine?
Can I do anything with the email communication offering me a refund?

I am VERY annoyed at myself for falling for this! Grrr!!

Have you had your refund yet?

I think it is worrying that the website has disappeared, I wonder if it has anything to do with this company in the article which has been shut down for failure to file accounts on time:

i too managed to fall victim to this site. grrr.

There are so many breaches of regulations amongst the site and the terms and conditions are very loopy too.

Yes my fault for going through with it but it is deceptive the way it is done.

Also they do not tell you how much money they are taking nor give you a receipt for the payment.

I cancelled within 30 minutes as it didn't sit right with me when payment confirmation didn't come through. I therefore rung bank - no payment taken so couldn't do anything. They then claimed I had not cancelled it. Then said I did but their operative had put it through (which they hadn't). Quickly offered to refund me their service charge -£8 if I gave them more information!!!!! I was not a happy bunny.

    When did all this happen?

The rogue website was replaced with a harmless Department of Transport place-holder over two months ago.
