    Thank you Polly.

I have done the cancellation (they had done the process etc) and received an email saying I'll get a refund (minus £8 admin!!!! and £50 for the licence!!) and I have provided them with my bank details.

From what I've read on similar threads, I think you'll get your refund OK, Beth.

However, although the website says 'within 48-72 hours' I have seen some posts saying their refund took longer.

I guess you can put it down to experience (costing £8 ;)) and just make sure you don't fall into a similar trap - and I'd tell all your friends to be super-careful too. :)

Be aware that websites with 'gov' and 'org' in their name may not be the official website.

I've just been scammed by this company...please can anyone give me some contact details.

Beth check out my other posts, (think you do this by clicking on my name and viewing them) do not give up and keep chasing them until you get your refund, my daugter received £82. The company name is TAD services.

Good luck and let me know if you need any help.
  • the money is not the real problem...it is the fact the details they now have..national insurance and passport numbers

All they want to do is charge for something you can do yourself. I very much doubt they care who you are or what your passport number etc is.

If they want to sell the information on then it will become a big problem.....I accept I should have probably read the blurb better but I thought I was on the actual dvla site.....it was only when i rang the real dvla they told me I had no application with them...which was a tad of a shocker....live and learn ....

Another payment to the leaches of the world hope they enjoy there work....and probably boats, big cars......lol:rotfl:
  • DAM!

Just been caught outby this scam. The web site looks very convincing and its not until you have putall your details in and its time to pay that you realise its not the DVLA.

I sent a cancellation request within 5 minutes so I think I amwell within their time restrictions, I have also informed the bank, and askedthem to stop payment, but as the money has not left my account they cant do anything?

I will wait and see and report back what happens.
  • I also fell for this website. I admit I thought it would save time, and did not read the T&Cs or prices tabs. I thought it was suspicious when in the payment process it did not express how much I was paying, there was no means of checking this before accepting as you would on a reputable website.
When I discovered I had been charged £70 I phoned DVLA who, of course, had no record of my application, but were "aware" of these other websites working on their behalf.
I was in email communication with dvla-driving-licence.co.uk after that phone call and they offered me a refund. Reading their T&Cs they do offer a refund as long as the application has not been processed, and they take off £8, and within 48-72hrs.
That was a week last Fri and still no refund....and the website has mysteriously gone down as well?! I have emailed a couple of times also with no response.
I'd just like to ask has anyone received a refund from this company?
Does anyone have the contact phone number for them, which I did not copy down before the website went offine?
Can I do anything with the email communication offering me a refund?

I am VERY annoyed at myself for falling for this! Grrr!!
