So just checked CC statement from N@wide and found that a late payment fee and interest of more than the payment I made added on. Cue quick phonecall to ask why this has occurred when I had a letter to say a payment plan had been agreed? Much toing and froing with them finally agreeing to remove the interest and charges, but saying that I had to have another review before a further payment plan could be agreed. I politely and firmly told them to find the phone call from last September and review it because the person I spoke to then agreed a review would not be necessary until Aug 2015 as long as I keep paying the agreed amount...which I have. They are going to do this and get back to me next week. I won't hold my breath. I also want to know from them why, after sending me a default notice in September 2014, this has not been marked on my credit file. Instead there are AA markers. If I have a dated default notice from them in writing, surely they can't do this? I shall be putting all this in writing again. No wonder people get fed up trying to sort stuff out themselves...
Hunky doryness didn't last long, did it!

    Don't be upset HB :)

I have had enough default notices to paper the lounge (and dining room.)

Just because they send one of these doesn't mean they are registering a default. I am ashamed to say that I had these long before my LBM, caught up with payments, then fell behind again and got another from the same lender  !! I have had half a dozen or so from some :(!!

Most will actually default, terminate the agreement and record 'D' on the credit file when you are 6 months in arrears but it may vary. The more you pay therefore, the longer it takes to be 6 months behind!

It is irritating in the extreme but nothing to put you off track at all :) !! All the best with sorting NW out - you will :)

Paperwork all filled in and about to be sent off. Phased retirement here I come...just in time for Spring/Summer! Let's see if it all gets coordinated, or whether I'll be skint whilst it all gets set up! We will see.

Having much trouble with N@wide. CC review has put the monthly payment down to below £20 which is good. Still no fees, charges or interest added. Review in six months time. The odrafts are another matter though! I am getting call after call after call at home, work and on mobile even though I have called them up myself to do a revew! The accounts are now being passed through to recoveries and they say they won't contact me from there until a default notice has been served and 28 days have passed, however, the collections department may still call to speak to me about I know not what! So I don't know what's happening there. They have said all payment arrangements etc have been removed and they can't talk to me about what to do until defaults have been served and 28 days has passed. So when I asked about whether charges and interest would be charged she said...it shouldn't be! What's going on? Shall I keep paying or not?

Keep going HB you are doing great! Do not panic, these companies seem to tend to communicate in a very strange ways
Sounds like they want to default you, which is probably better sooner than later so that in 6 years from now it will stop showing on your credit file. You have done everything above board and by the book so it is extremely upsetting to get these mixed messages(sometimes from the same source!) and this behaviour seems common. I certainly feel very frustrated and confused whenever I have tried to talk to anyone so now ask that they do not contact me by phone and only in writing. I am only paying token payments to my creditors as I have too small an income to make proper repayments and have aTemporary Payment arrangement. If they are now defaulting you there seems little point in paying your hard earned money to them, you may decide to save it in your savings pot until they come up with a mutually acceptable payment plan? See what advice other people offer(you can always give step change a call) but hang in there an do not let them scare you. you are doing a GREAT job of getting to grips with managing your debts/ finances. All the best

I have worked my last ever Monday! I'm going to love my weekday day off. Had no more phone calls from N@wide yesterday, so maybe the departments have actually spoken to each other. All is calm on the debt front the moment.

Congratulations HB! :) If I have a day off on Monday I'm happy all Sunday :rotfl:!!

Good luck with Nationwide - you need to ultimately receive a letter telling you the default has been applied and the account terminated. The debt is then just a big blob to be kicked around, sold, discounted etc :) !

Been a bit non MSE today. Had a good potter round a lovely antiques/vintage place and bought a pair of lovely earrings...investment, a semi precious stone with tiny diamonds £28 and a gorgeous pristine vintage lizard skin handbag...£30. Both were absolute bargains and, if necessary, could be sold for a lot more than I paid, so I don't feel too bad. It's a long time since I've been a bit frivolous with the spends...We will eat out of the freezer and cupboard for a couple of weeks to compensate.
Determined to finish the decorating this week, too.
