  • Compared to some of your per day spends that sounds like absolute richness. Really well done. I will watch with interest.

  • Thanks, INOD. Certainly quite a healthy daily spend at the mo. Looking forward to 2015 Igamogam. Happy New Year to everyone. In 2014 I reduced debt mountain by £5851. Looking forward to continuing the debt busting next year and seeing the scary total reduce.
There are some things I'm determined to do...learn to sew properly so I can make my own clothes that I actually like. Make some money from making stuff. Save up at least £1000 to the buffer fund. Get the house in order. Get rid of even more superfluous stuff. See my dad as often as I can and take him out and about while he is still able. No waiting to do stuff. Find a way to do it now...time is precious. You never know when it's going to run out. Stay positive.

  • I think in your first year of tackling debt, you also should take credit for saving the amount it'd normally increase by each year. Good targets for 2015

  • Taking the visitors out for the day today. I'm hoping to get away with no spend, but am on guard just in case. Don't want to spend more than £25 if it comes to spending any. Nothing like a brisk walk. Blows the cobwebs away and is freeeeee!

  • Lovely day out today apart from the tour of the debtor's prison! Thank goodness times have changed! Spent £30, so daily spend is back to £11.24. Not bad. Happily, everyone chipped in.

Well, the last day before going back to work. It's been a whirlwind two weeks and I could do with another two weeks to recover, if I'm honest! Had to get fuel yesterday, but still have £210 left to last till payday...£11.05 per day. Not doing bad. Also still a lot left to eat up from the mahoosive Christmas shop, so won't have to buy food, apart from essentials, for ages. One of the visitors goes today, and the other one next Sat. Is it mean of me to be breathing a sigh of relief? Once they have gone we can get back to focusing on doing the house up again. Finish the living room then make a start on the hall. And I will be clearing out the room that is earmarked for my craft room/workshop...again! This has been an ongoing saga for ages, but this time when the room is clear, it's staying clear. No one is putting any of their junk back in.
On the financial front, I have reviews of the payment plans in Feb and March when I am going to try to reduce the payments by about 20% to give me more of a chance of saving up a decent buffer fund. I'm aiming for it to be £100 by the end of Jan and could really do with saving at least £75 into it each month. Hark at me! Talking about saving! That's a turn up for the books...

  • Forgot to mention I had a little look in the sales yesterday. I could do with a new pair of boots and I saw a lovely bag that I would have loved. However, not having any spare money or credit and asking myself whether I really NEEDED these things, I admired them and walked away. Only bought the tights I needed. It was a lovely bag though...

  • Is there anyone who could buy the bag and put it aside for birthday or Mother's Day?
