  • I can't wait for the day I am debt free. The feeling of weight being lifted off the shoulders when I received the first two offers was great. Hope the self employment goes well, Brogden.

  • Another refusal today. Point blank no. Now just waiting on the last three. So out of eight, I have only so far secured two definite p and f acceptances and one that is still being considered. Bit disappointing, but at least two of the debts will have gone by the middle of February.
Interestingly, the ones who I thought would be the most difficult have turned out to be the most reasonable!

Two out of eight is real progress though, and there is nothing to stop you trying again with the others in 6 or 12 months time :)
  • Yes. It feels like a big step forward.

Fantastic news this morning. The creditor who wanted the i and e and table of creditors and offers came up trumps with an acceptance of the offer I made with the rest of the balance on the account written off! It will be marked as partially satisfied on the credit file and another one has bitten the dust. I now have five creditors left, with whom I will negotiate further to see if anymore deals can be done. This is brilliant. Brogden, you have helped me do this because you inspired me with your diary of your own p and f action. Thanks, mate! :)

    You're welcome mate :p !! I suppose I had to be useful for something sometime :) !!

Still HB......a flat 'NO?' You know what? I had 20 predators (now 7).....nobody has ever given me a flat 'NO!' With you being such a charming lady I cannot imagine that you would not be more successful than me ;) !!!

Can you say who the predator is? Say it in our secret code if you like ;)I can say if I have them in my portfolio or maybe used to.

  • C@p1, Brogden. I will, however, communicate with them again. I haven't decided whether to phone them, or just keep everything by letter. I've got time, anyway, I'll just concentrate on the amenable ones for the time being. Got another letter today representing two amounts, wanting the i and e and table of offers to creditors before saying yay or nay. Hope that's a good sign!

    Oh......Crap1 :(.

I had them in my portfolio but, along with Barklaycard, I paid them off before I became a defaulting DMP-er :) !! I haven't been through the mill with them.

Have they defaulted you and frozen interest? It may be worth giving them a new I&E and taking them down to £1 a month? They may think you are paying them too much to receive preferential treatment by way of a P&F? Punish them a little maybe.....:D!!
  • And nearly 40% of the way through! Stick with it.
