Nexen are by no means the worst tyres on the market. They are one of the more respectable budget brands, and I wouldn't be in a rush to change them if they were on a car I'd just bought.

Yes maybe on a car i too would see for myself, though i probably wouldn't have bought from such a cheapskate previous owner in the first place unless the car was a giveaway but thats for another discussion.

However our OP is retyring a pick up and his 18 year old lad is going to drive it.

Having owned and retyred several 4x4's and a pick up, tyre choice is absolutely critical, tail happy and pick up, or other normally 2WD vehicle of this type, go hand in hand.

Hello there. I'd recommend using this website when comparing prices.
    Heres the link http://www.rezulteo-tyres.co.uk/buy-tyre

    hope this helps :)

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind next time. My tyres are being delivered tomorrow. £533 for 5 Michelins is probably a good price

Well done all of you trying to give your total business to local indies, but for the 80% of most popular sizes, they simply can't compete on price as they don't have the volume discounts. Even in the mainstream sizes they often are more profitable charging for a change and balance on your supplied tyres than supply and fit at an overall acceptable cost to you.
Get familiar too with date stamps on sidewalls. There is little point saving a couple of quid if your new tyres have been sitting on the rack of a low volume supplier for years.

I phoned 4 places. 1st 3 said £20 per wheel, 4th said £10. However, there's a recall on my vehicle to possibly change the wheels. I might then get it done free
