Megabus Ruined our Weekend

Sounds like it wasn't Megabus who ruined the weekend, but yourself!0

A sleepless night means that following day is lost. Not a big deal if that is just the first day of a two-week holiday, but enough to make a weekend away pointless.
I go to festivals in the summer and don't really sleep for the whole weekend so you can do it & still enjoy yourself providing you have the right mindset, and loads of redbull & alcohol!!0 -

OP would have been fine on the backseat with a coat over0 -
Granted it would have been nice if the original vehicle was available, but hardly the end of the world, with a standard coach.
I well remember travelling from Cardiff to Zakopane in Poland by coach - slept ok in the seat, not great maybe but it's doable.
If you had not anything at the other end lined up, it might have been ok to cancel, but you had hence just too risky to assume they would pay you for everything!!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
I've also done coach trips to the south of France and Spain for camping holidays too. Not a bed in sight ! Done Eurodisney by coach too. If you want to go, you'll go, bed or not.0

I did Megabus Gold Glasgow to London.
OP, you weren't missing much! The journey is difficult if you don't want to sleep straight away as you have very little room above the bed/hammock and no seat, so you pretty much have to lie down straight away.
I agree with what others have said - claim for the ticket but not the other things as they still provided a service, just a step down from what you paid for.
I see it was the weekend you should have been here - it's really very cold and wet, so probably not much fun!
Have a rethink next time - get travel insurance and remember that 7.5h isn't that long and in getting into Glasgow so early you could have a couple of hours sleep before enjoying your day.0 -
I done 14 hours between Melbourne and Sydney on an upright train seat before.. Was knacked but I managed a good 6 hours sleep. Both them and buses if I use them rock me gently like a little baby asleepDont rock the boat

I've done Sydney to Melbourne on that train too ! Bloody uncomfortable it was. We wished we'd flown when we got off !0 -
