I've had many overnight journeys in coaches, even falling asleep in an upright seat...
Most people travel overnight on upright seats.
It was your choice, you won't get anything and shouldn't expect it.
If you do get anything it will be a ticket refund but I personally wouldn't give you that either. If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
when booking trips and relying on public transport you are better booking flexible rate which can be cancelled up until 1pm or 4pm or even as late as 6pm on the day for some hotel chains..it's worth considering for future trips.0

Have you received a confirmation that your complaint has been received? It'll be an automatic reply. But don't get your hopes up for a quick resolution its either 10-14 WORKING days or 28 days I can't remember now but it took a good couple of months for me to finally get a resolution out of them and it was only because they had broken there own complaints T & C's.Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada  :dance:0

Ticket Refund = best you'll get from Megabus.
The rest? Two Words. Travel. Insurance.0 -
I do have some sympathy for the OP, because if they are like me, I'm not the sort of person who unless I've been up for well over 24 hours, can sleep anywhere other than in a bed, laid on a 3 seater settee or a thickish mattress on the floor, i.e not just with a blanket over me on the floor.
I probably would have still made the journey however and claimed afterwards. For me, when I got to Glasgow, I would have needed a few hours sleep before going out, or just stayed up all day and got to sleep in the hotel at night.
I have made train/coach journeys overnight in a seat and have never been able to get asleep. I remember going to Glasgow overnight by train from London, after being up all day. I still couldn't get asleep in the seats. I spent the whole day in Glasgow and came back late afternoon, but still didn't sleep in the seats coming back and finally slept when I got back to London that night.
Some people could sleep on a thin plank of wood or on a hard floor, but not everyone is the same.0 -
I wouldn't have been happy either.0

I suppose it depends on the ops personal circumstances and health.
I wouldn't be sure at this point( not having researched it) that a bed would have been much more comfy than a seat. If It was a health issue I wouldn't have gone by megabus.0 -
I wouldn't have been happy either, but would probably have done what others have mentioned and gone to Glasgow and then claimed when I got back. Unless you've got health issues or there was a particular reason why you couldn't go on a normal buss, then all I can say is, you can't have wanted to go to Glasgow that badly.
You sure are thorough wanting a refund on the guidebook....good luck with that one! So you'll never be going to Glasgow again and won't have a use for it in the future then?0 -
The bus broke down, so they offered the only alternative they could.
You made the choice not to travel.
Surely you could have had two seats to sleep across?
You have the right for a refund for your ticket but nothing else, as you had the option to travel and get to your destination, but opted not to.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
