I have had money taken out of my bank account fraudulently twice in the last 4-6 weeks. I do suspect that this has happened because I have applied for dodgy jobs advertised on the UJM website, where they have somehow obtained my details from my CV and been able to obtain my personal details from there (in addition to which, I have left myslef logged in to one or two websites such as Itunes overnight in the past, because I am not automatically a security-conscious person).
So you are saying from your CV someone can get your bank account and sort code? Really? They then in turn have defrauded your bank account?
I don't see how they if anyone has done this
You have reported the withdrawal from your bank?
Was it a direct debit? A standing order or a transfer? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
People have a look at the top 200 "employers" on UJM:
https://jobsearch.direct.gov.uk/jobsearch/Browse.aspx?sc=em
Look at their jobs, same jobs listed multiple times round the country.
Click on a few, no contact details, and then apply, many of which take you to similiar dodgy websites without any contact details like Search Job Vacancies.
That's most of the employers I checked in short period.
Here are some I picked out:
Ados Solutions (5573 jobs)

It doesn't look good !
That is 33,570 jobs in 12 employers out of top 200 only !
Still another 182 employers out of top 200 to check.0 -

Not wholly from these details,clearly
However, as I said I was also not security-conscious in logging out of sites such as Itunes (which does contain my bank card details).
My CV contains my email and home addresses.
In combination, I feel it was entierly possibler some fraudster was able to get enough details about me to be able to withdraw money out of my bank account,.
And even if this was not the caes, why should some shyster be able to obtain my personal details by claiming they have a job available, and then phone me or email me trying to sell me such crap I never6 wanted in the first place?
Fortunately my bank (Barclays) were ggood about it. They put the money back into my bank account, sent me a form in the post about this fraud. Which I returned promptly, and they have since contacted me saying they accept it was fraud.Meaning they in effect are absorbing the costs of this fraud commited by some low-life shyster.0 -

More probably a virus, in which case I would visit the tech board to clean up your computer, or a cloned card. I doubt anyone could take money from your account with your CV alone."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

Hmmm?
It could be possible, if you open dodgy attachments, or click on a disguised installer, you entire computer could be open to hackers. If your banking details are on you hard drive I guess they could be stolen.
To be frank, the UJM system is wide open to every sort of crook imaginable.
You also have a lot of very vulnerable people, who don't really understand how they can be targeted by the conmen, who may just ASK for the "Job seekers" banking details, and a surprising number of people will happily give them, believing that their needed to get their salary.0 -

CIT (29475)
CV Library (Job Warehouse Only) (73965)
Job Board Enterprises (20945)
Jobs.co.uk (30373)
Monster (Job Warehouse) (27905)
Nat. Apprenticeship Service (9316)
Technojobs Job Warehouse Only (14164)
Above totals 206,143.
Plus other smaller advertisers who are no doubt ok.
I think CIT is some cobbled together service that started to dump aggregated jobs on UJM last year, pulled in from somewhere.0 -
Have just started a post relating to this. After all the carry on the government jobsearch website is not letting jobseekers search or log on until they have agreed to a massive disclaimer, not on like. I am refusing to agree until i have visited the jobcentre. They have not only made a complete mess of the site and put people in danger of fraud etc but now want us to agree to their rules so we cannot do anything if things go wrong!0
