Angel, yes I'm planning to go back to work within a couple of months. It's not so much the money (although that's essential) but I run the company with my Dad and have responsibilities to others. I'd also hate to be 'out of the loop' for more than a couple of months.
Same as you, my industry means I have to keep up with what's going on.
I will try and work my hours around breast feeding etc though if I can, and work as much as possible from home to save on childcare costs.LBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Debt Now £00 -
The good news is, we accepted an offer on our house today (after the previous one fell through). Now to find one for us:beer:
Excellent news! :j We're still looking for our home to buy. Have put in offers on several, but they keep going wrong.
It is the most unbelievably frustrating, stressful thing to set your heart on a place and for it to go wrong each time.
We're currently looking at houses every evening and every weekend, but we'll run out of them in our area soon enough.
Plus I have developed an obsession with right move. I'm refreshing it every hour or so.LBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Debt Now £00 -
Angeltreats make sure you factor in child tax credits and anything else you'll be entitled to. also does your workplace do childcare vouchers?
Hubby and I are going to both drop to 4 days a week so I'll work Tuesday to Friday and he'll work Friday to Monday so will mean one day in daycare but we figure that she needs to socialise with other people/children so is a good solution. For a day it costs approx £40 in my area and the childcare voucher scheme through work pays £55.00. Plus according to a colleague if you work 16 hours or less you get no help, 16 - 24 hours you get some help and 25+ hours you get the most help if that makes sense.
RMR I have a rightmove obsession too and we're not even looking to move until next year :rotfl:. I have email alerts set up when a new property matching our requirements gets listed.... maybe I shouldn't have told you thatDEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

Edit: Meh, doesn't look like we'll get WTC either. It's not like we're on huge salaries, we're both basic rate tax payers and I'll be under £20k when I drop my hours, even before pension contributions.
They do childcare vouchers, yeah, but I hadn't taken them into account as I don't know how it'll all work out. I'll have to speak to them about it. I doubt we'll get any child tax credit/working tax credit, even if I drop to three days a week and make pension contributions via salary sacrifice to keep my salary down. It would be based on the 13/14 tax year anyway I believe when we would have been well over the threshold. I've just used the online calculator and it looks like our household income is too high for CTC. We would get child benefit though.0 -
We are entitled to nothing I work 32hrs over 4 days and husband works full time we use 2 days childminder n 2 days nursery used to be 3 days childminder n 1 nursery.
We do qualify for childcare vouchers just check terms n conditions for maternity pay if u have another as they affect way mat pay is calculated as vouchers are a salary sacrifice n come off your gross salary in effect making gross salary less which affects any benefits Inc pension contributions.
One thing I did when I went back wad first wk was annual leave rolled over so stayed as full time and my amended hrs started from 2nd wk.
I then took every fri as annual leave for 12wks as this works better for saving on childcare so he went to childminder 3 days a wk at 9mths and then once I was working 4 days husband took couple fri off n then he started nursery 1 day a wk at 13mths.
I will def be doing something similar this time especially as won't return til Sept time so more annual leave to play with.0 -
Well I have missed loads again. Just not had time and I still have this headache. Been back to dr's but nothing much they can do really. Sickness is better so I do feel a bit better overall.
Just ordered a few maternity bits but the one dress I wanted from next is oosI had a voucher from my birthday.
Has anyone bought from jojo maman? Just wonders what sizes are like. Want a swimsuit but small is 8-10 and m is 12-14. I am a 10-12 so not sure what to purchase. I want a tankini which isn't halter neck if anyone can suggest somewhere else to buy one from?
Will have a read though later and try to catch up a bit. Hope you are all well xxx0 -

Oh no sorry to hear that you're still suffering with your headache, it's not fun at all. Could it be related to the pollen count (I'm obsessed :rotfl:) or is it just all the extra blood running around your body.
I have just ordered and sent back two pairs of crop jeans as they were stupidly small for a size 16. I got them up but that was about it. If you're able to I would head into a store and try stuff on as you have to pay postage to return the items.

Hi ladies.
Well I'm 24 weeks today and was back at midwife and according to her I have a lovely bump coming along. This totally contradicts my sister who said I have nothing but toll upon roll of fat (bmi at booking was 26) but then she's got nothing nice to say about anyone.....ever!!!
Baby is around the belly button which is exactly where it should be and has a fantastic strong heartbeat.....
