  • CD17 for me today - waited until 5pm to do OPK but no luck :( I remember there being one day when the second line was really dark (but after a second opinion from DH we decided not dark enough) I hope this wasn't the surge and I've missed it! I'm going to check back through my posts because I think I mentioned it on here. Hopefully ov is still on it's way! Anyone else had any luck with OPK's today? x

Edited to add - it was Saturday that the lines were close in colour, I wrote a note on ovia x

Just popping in to say that I used IC OPK while TTC, and my test line was never as dark as the control line. Ended up buying one pack of Clearblue tests (the ones with the smiley faces), and would just use one Clearblue a month to confirm OV on the day I got my darkest IC.

HTH and wishing you all lots of luck and baby dust x

It's nearly cd14, you may as well. Plus we could all do with another little boost when it's a BFP.

Welcome newcomers, hope everyone's stay is short.
re SMEP - it is certainly a slog and quite a lot of effort. I'm motivated by wanting to get a BFP ASAP and not willing to leave anything to chance. If science can help me then I'll use it! Day 3 of bding in a row before a day break and I'll be pleased to have a rest. It's really day 4 as we messed up the days before. Plus I'm tired. Moan moan moan.
For whoever has the podcasts(sorry your name escapes me!) it's also available as a free ebook on iBooks or kindle.
  • With the SMEP, my advice is know your cycle! Unfortunately I've done the 3 intense days 3 times this cycle, as I keep thinking I'm away to ovulate, and then not! luckily I'm still having fun, but he's drained :rotfl: literally!

    Hi everyone,

Absolutely thrilled to read your news thinkpink! Congrats

Rebekah, I'm glad to read someone else is scared too, but the fact that you've already had one (If I read properly) scares me all the more! I don't know what fears me the most, the carrying or the giving birth part but I'm trying not to think of that just now.

I'm cd20 at the mo, not certain that I've ovulated / ovulating and I'm hoping this one will only be a few days longer than my previous cycle, but hopefully I will never find out!
Hahaha sorry! :rotfl: Live in bliss you don't know what it's like yet :rotfl:
Its honestly worth all the pain sleepless nights etc etc. But I am not looking forward to the newborn stage for sure. The sleepless nights are like nothing I have ever experienced in my life. Please note ... My baby was not a sleeper  She would only sleep on me or hubby and we took it in shifts to hold her all night and each got 2-3 hours sleep for the first month and gradually got a tad more. Until 7 weeks and I said sod it i'm cosleeping! Best thing we did. I also have no close family and no support network at all. So it was no one to help just me and hubby. So there was none of this sleeping when baby does malarky until she was over 8 weeks old. If you have close family/friends then it should be a bit easier on you. I ain't gonna deny it the first 2 weeks are pure hell on this earth whilst you adjust. But somehow you do and it gradually gets better from there in. As for breastfeeding 1st month is hard getting it established but after that its a doddle. We are still feeding twice a day now and she is 2 years and 3 months old. So I am an expert if any one need any help! :D

Thanks musogirl, hope AF leaves you alone too!

    fingers crossed slowlyfading!

I could go back to bed! Like Rebekah, I'm terrified and this is my 1st time trying! Birth terrifies me! OH always says "Well you wanted babies and that's how you get them!"

I had a CSection so I can't comment on the birth side. However what I have learnt is it is not full on 12 hours of constant hell pain. It gradually builds up from mild aching to period type pain - to bad cramps - the contractions and each contraction has a rest period between when you have no pain and can relax a bit ready for the next one.

Don't wanna go all religious on you all but I believe that God only gives us what we can handle. And if it was that bad then people would go do it again for 2 - 3 - 4 - 6 - 16:eek::rotfl:

I think the fear is a good sign (as long as your not catatonic!) It shows that you've not made this decision lightly.

I spent my entire pregnancy with DD terrified about the birth. Then about halfway through my 50 hour labour(!) it suddenly turned to fear about being a mother. I remember very clearly wailing to DH "what if she hates me?"!

Despite the lengthy labour, the birth was OK, and she doesn't hate me (I think!)
I was terrified of being a mother! What if I ended up like my own useless cow of a mother? What if I couldn't stop her crying (fyi boob solves everything!)? What this? what that? But some how you just know and it's all ok. THey cannot cry forever and it does stop!
