Hi ladies, haven't really posted much on here as I'm holding off ttc until I can get my cycle tracked out and work out when I'm ovulating. Have been off my pill (microgynon 30) for nearly four months. In this time my skin has really broken out and is awful!
Dont mean to sound so vain and I know that there are worse things going on in the world but this is really bringing me down! Its big red bumps and blackheads along my jaws, cheeks and my forehead. I had problems when I was a teenager and tried various treatments through the doctors, but was put on the pill eventually and that helped. Had to go on the microgynon 30 for migraines and now im off it it worse than when I was a teenager. Have been using stuff by Avene and Skinetica toner as I heard brilliant reviews on it, but it doesnt seem to be helping so trying the fresh farmacy soap from Lush but at my wits end! Has this happened to any one else and what helped you? Sorry to ramble, but its so frustrating!! x:o
*de lurking* I had bad spots when I came off the pill. Suffered with them until I got pregnant.
Then I got spots from being pregnant after a few weeks. Then they went away in the 2nd trimester and now theyre back in the 3rd..
When I have the baby you cant be on the combination pill until youve stopped breast feeding so looks like a long road of spotty skin ahead of me!! Cant wait to go back on the pill in a year or so!
The problem is because the spots are hormonal, they keep coming whatever you put on your skin. So dont waste your money on anything expensive.
I actually went on microgynon for a while and that gave me spots too, it was only when I was on marvelon I had clearer skin. Apparently microgynon is notorious for it so sounds like you were lucky.
Someone recommended having a shower scrub with epsom salts if youre getting them on your back.
And I just make sure I cleanse, tone and moisturise, never leave any make up on when I go to bed etc. I did get this really strong spot cream off the internet but it makes my skin red so I dont really use it.0 -
Hey Ladies,
Sorry its been a few days since a properly posted.
Congratulations Boat girl! x x x:j:j:j:j:j:j
Tinks... Ive said it before but.. you are so talented! they are amazing! can you post or send me a pm as to where you sell your things if possible?? x x - Hope the clomid has worked for you - did you have your day 21 bloods done?
AFM - I need some advice ladies- for the past 4-5 months - ive not had a peak on my CBFM - just several days of highs - and again, as feared... im just getting highs again since CD17 - i just know im not gonna get a peak again. so... its been about 17 months of TTC, admittedly due to shift work we havent even been with a chance some months - which is why i havent been to GP - but im thinking now is about time that i do go. Im scared, petrified in fact. Ive been putting it off. I really really want a baby - what if i get told its not possible?? Im being really stupid i know... My head is telling me to go.. but then something just keeps saying.. give it one more month - this one more month has gone on for 4 months now!!
someone tell me to snap out of it and get down to the drs please! i need someone to drag me there
x x x0 -
:j Congratulations BoatGirl
Hugs Frankieloo and anyone else who needs one.
Thanks for doing the lists Kellykins. Personally I would go to the drs so that things tie in with your next cycle- so if they want to do your 21 day bloods you give yourself plenty of time to get an appointment. I had a blood test when I was on my 100 day cycle and I was ok until I was phoning for the results and then suddenly I felt sick with ideas of what they could tell me, but then I plucked up the courage as I decided if they did have bad news that at least then they would hopefully be able to the give us the help we needed. The results came back ok- (but to be honest Im still not conviced that I ov- but then I think my body is taking a while to get back to normal after the pill.) What I'm trying to say is even though its hard to do, personally I would rather know than not know as there is a lot of help out there these days.
Nothing to report here- just waiting for af- basically unless I ov early or late or on cd 14/15ish Im don't have a chance so am just waiting for a new cycle.0 -

Hello Everyone:wave:
Congratulations to Boat Girl :T and dodgy hugs to those with negatives.
AFM still no sign of AF here, I've had feelings that AF is on the way but the next day nothing!
My hormones are all over place since stopping the pill, I've had sore boobs for 2 weeks and cramping that came and went 2 weeks ago. I did have some ewcm last weekend but only a small amount. I just want AF to appear so I can start charting my cycle properly. On the plus side my skin doesn't seem to have been affected so fingers crossed that stays the same.
Thanks for the lists kellykins. I'm the same with doctors and my mind runs away with me but I go and it's never bad. Think of it as a starting point of putting your mind at rest.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend x x2014 - This is Our Year :j0 -
Thanks for doing the lists Kellykins - I would make an appointment as you don't know how long it will all take and the best thing to do is get the ball rolling - if you get PG in the interim then it's win win. xx

Thanks for doing the lists Kellykins - I would also go to the doctors ... The unknown is a major issue for me - at least you will know one way or another if everything is ok.
I've had cramps yesterday and today so I am not sure if it is because I am having loads of fruit or AF ... will have to wait and seeSW member: 09/01/2014

Hi, sorry to butt in on the thread!
But I was on Dianette for years for my skin and I was really worried about what would happen when I stopped taking it. Sure enough, I started to break out.
I went straight to the doctor and was prescribed a cream called Duac. There are antibiotics they can give you, but these are not safe during pregnancy so my doctor said it was better not to go on them only to have to stop taking them if I fell pregnant. But Duac was absolutely brilliant - it says it can take a couple of weeks to work but with me it literally started clearing them up from the first application.
Now I am pregnant my skin has changed again - apart from always having one spot on my chin (not the same spot, new spots come and go lol!) the rest of my skin has got really soft and clear, so I am not using the Duac anymore. But I would really recommend it - it works brilliantly.
(Just realised this could sound like medical advice....I am not advising, just sharing my own good experience!)0
