Hi Bezzy! It took me me 13 months to conceive my dd and 7 months to get pregnant with baby i unfortunately lost. Hopefully it will be quicker 2nd time for you too.

My Oh is convinced its going to happen first month, after dtd on day of ovulation he annouced after 'yep, that's definitely you pregnant!'

Evening ladies. Thank you so much to everyone asking about my appointment, I really appreciate it I've been started on medication to try and calm my thyroid down. The consultant reckoned it should start to kick in in 2-3 weeks. Review appointment in 8 weeks (repeat bloods the week before) and he thinks my thyroid function should be much better by then. He said I'll probably remain on it for a year and then I'll have a trial off it as a lot of the time people can go into temporary/permanent remission from the hyperthyroidism. The doctor thinks I've probably got Graves' disease which is causing the hyperthyroidism so been tested for that too! I was worried the doctor was going to tell me to stop TTC until my thyroid was under control, but he didn't. He asked about TTC and he said hyperthyroidism is 'unfavourable' for conceiving! We're still TTC but not holding out any hope for a BFP for a long while yet :cool: But at least an issue has been diagnosed and is now being treated rather than BFNs for another year before it was diagnosed!

Sorry to hear that it seems TTC is going to be tough, snapping, but on the plus side at least they are doing tests and can hopefully treat it, or at the very least just knowing there's a reason for all the BFN's should be some comfort. Keeping everything crossed for you x

looba, I think the laid-back approach is definitely a good one. I've been like that this month and whilst I'm not convinced we've been successful (although time will tell!) I've been so much more calm and relaxed, haven't fretted or stressed or stupid things, and I've not felt at all depressed or sad that it's just not happened yet. If anything I thought I would feel worse now as we've passed the 6 month mark, but I've just kept my mind on other things and am trying to think along the lines of it will happen when it happens.

Hi All, hope everyone is well....I feel a bit lost in no-mans land, took clomid don't think I've responded, had a 12mm follicle of day 12 but no large folic on day 19 but no positive ov test between. I've been using the very expensive clear blue advanced digital ones so I do believe they would have shown if I had Ov'd. Going to wait a week or so, do a test & then start norethestrone to bring on a bleed then Clomid cycle 5..... *sigh*

Another pregnancy announcement in work today, pregnant by her ex who she split up from was he was hitting her & has told her he wants nothing to do with the baby.....how is any of this fair!?!?!?

Hi all

Not much to report here. Following another BFN on Monday, had AF cramps for the last couple of days, which is a bit unusual for me as I dont get them normally until straight after AF has started. Want to just get on with it so we can get on with trying next month. I think maybe I must have OV a little later than I thought as I am now 16 DPO. I also have a stinking cold so feeling properly sorry for myself

Princess kate - I totally know what you mean about the unfairness. I dont know how many times I have walked down the street and seen people that clearly shouldn't be parents with 3 or 4 kids in tow.

Looba - thanks. We went down the pub and sat in the sunshine and just had a bottle of wine and a little chat. Feel relieved its over. The build up was definitely worse than the day itself.

BezzyK - welcome. Men are so ('scuse the pun) !!!!-sure when it comes to this stuff. When I briefly mentioned to OH that you only have about 12-24 hours in a whole cycle to get lucky, and even then only have a 20% chance I think it sunk in a little bit that its not that easy.

Snapping-crocodile - sounds like your getting some solutions to the thyroid issue and good news that you can keep on TTC through treatment.
