My husband is just as bad: One night I woke up and heard something. I told him, and what did he do? Whispered "I'm scared" and pulled the duvet over his head!:rotfl:

Okay, I admit, I'd been having a bad dream, and the words I woke him with were "Someone's on the landing pulling on rubber gloves" (it was a VERY nasty dream ), but still......I did expect slightly more heroic action from him!

Maybe they weren't... maybe they were two burglars trying to get a good look into your house.

It was left to me to confront them with a pair of garden shears. Fortunately they'd already legged it!

Im never polite to them i'm afraid....my mum was a witness, she died when i was young but it caused alot of trouble in our family...she turned into a looney..thats not why i have a dislike for them though...i believe people should be able to hold any belief they choose.
Just don't try and ram it down my throat by knocking at my door, especially at 8.30 in the morning and i won't threaten to 'turn you into a lolly pop, by sticking you on the end of my walking stick'....yep i'm going to hell:eek:

My wife has a baseball bat, with 3 nails poking out of the end next to the bed. I'm not sure where she got it, but it scares me.

....i think twice in 23 years of marriage i have woken my husband after hearing noises....both times he has got up and the first thing he has done both times is go for a blumin wee, then walk back into the bedroom get his dressing gown on, the last time he stopped to check his mobile as a message had come through just as we were falling asleep...why even bother?

With all due respect, you need to have a serious conversation with your children (adults) about safety in the event of an emergency. If the intruder meant you harm they would have had an easy time of it.

Everyone in the household should know where they can find something to defend themselves with.

Fire evacuation plan while you're at it.
