Just wondering if your kids...and dog are like mine?
A couple of hours ago i heard a few noises coming from the back of the house..my 21 year daughters were in bed, dog happily snoring away in his bed in my room.
I looked at the dog as he never ever misses a trick, but nothing still snoring....i heard a noise again, sounding like someone was trying to get in the conservatory.
I got up and grabbed my walking stick and went in both girls room and told them to get some heavy each..
waited on the landing.
1st one comes out...with an empty plastic body lotion bottle from her bin.???
2nd one comes out...with an empty Evian water bottle from her bag.???
Dog still snoring, told one of the girls to go and get him, she came out with him snuggled in her arms...asleep, i told her to put him down and it will wake him. yep just enough to let him toddle off back to bed.
We snuck down in the dark...i thought i'd get you your !!!!!! i'm going to surprise you and stick ya on the end of my walking stick.
1st girl turns the hall light one???? next thing could hear footsteps running on the decking, the back gate squeak and running up the drive..
Called the dog down,,,,and yes he actually came:T..i opened the conservatory door to let him out and for him to check the garden...he walks up to my plant pot, piddles, gets his squeaky pig and toddles back up to bed.
I locked the gate ( i had forgot earlier) walked back in and my 2 dangerously armed defenders were already back in bed!!
I won't bother again...next time i will leave them all snoring and arm myself with a wine bottle...empty of course.
My husband works away, home tomorrow....we will be better defended than Fort Knox by sunday..
Oh and not looking forward to the lecture which will start something like...'why the hell do you think we have a burglar alarm'.:)

Oh Gosh, glad your intruder ran off, especially since you were going to have to defend yourselves with a sleepy dog and 2 empty plastic bottles! No wonder you are still awake.0

Sounds like me! Husband and I heard someone stealing the neighbours cars one night. He got on the phone to police & went to investigate, armed with a badminton racquet & I waited downstairs for him armed with my bedtime book! Lol!
Glad you managed to disturb your prowler though. Make sure you ring your local police station tomorrow & let them know too x0 -
Lol i think i'm only still awake because of the 3 cups of coffee i had after the excitment.0

I give them a call earlier just incase the joker was still around the village, they said they would send a car round the area just to check for anyone hanging about and true to their word about half hour after the call a car pulled up and 2 officers got out walked up the drive checked my gate was secure and left then i heard a car about 20 mins ago and checked and it was the police driving slowly through the area...
To be honest i think they may of been after car keys, there are 3 new cars sat on the drive, the front door is a very heavy door so he would of known there was no chance getting through that, but we hide the keys away in a drawer at night anyway.
Thats another lecture coming...husband wants gates on the end of the drive, i keep saying no because i know nobody will ever bother clsoing them..so no doubt they will be in place by sunday as well ..lol0 -
The strangest thing has just dawned on me though....myself and my eldest daughter were talking this afternoon when she came round. She was telling me about 5 cars that were damaged by someone scrapping something heavy along the sides, 2 nights ago. We got talking about break ins and that in the 8 years of living here we had never heard of any...I wonder if i talk abut winning the euromillions tomorrow with her that will happen as well?0

I've tried being polite to them (when asking them to leave) but it doesn't work so I no longer feel any guilt about being rude.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0
