Although an awful experience for you, I must say it is better for you that you posted it to her work address than allowing her to collect from your home; if you'd done the latter you would have had no possible comeback at all.

Unfortunately it's immaterial where it was posted to, unless it was to the Paypal address.

Any other address requires serious detective work in proving quite who received it to move towards any legal resolution.

Imagine sending this to me, to my work address at say 'capita' ....who employ 70k people.....one of their addresses would be enough to have an item forwarded to me without any conclusive evidence.

    What can i do???

Did you withdraw the money to your bank account?

If yes then it's paypal's problem.

Next time use a less risky way of selling your unwanted goods.

Tech, it's a chargeback, proof of posting is enough, in normal circumstances, but this POP will (I'm guessing) be to the wrong address, as in, not the Paypal transaction address......which is why I asked HOW different.

And thats also why i ask if tracked - the seller is no-loner dealing with Ebay/ Paypal - any subsequent fraud investigation / small claim - would also fail at the first hurdle if no delivery can be proven to ANY address.

I'm sure the OP would not send a £300 item untracked. Would they :o

Yes, sorry I was still thinking apropos Paypal......I know I have unintentionally uploaded the wrong POP and it has been accepted.....

Yes it was sent via recorded delivery with a signature upon delivery.

The address i have found out is a mail forwarding service- she used a company name who i called yesterday and they have never heard of her.

Looks like i'm totally out of pocket as paypal and ebay have said as i sent it to a different address its nothing to do with them.

I have emailed her but she does not respond. If it was a case of someone hacking her i'm certain i would have responded by now to set the record straight.

Thats what annoys me the most.

For a chargeback all you need is proof of posting.

I'm not advising photoshopping a receipt with the correct postcode on. But thay would be ome way to solve the problem.

The Prroof of postage would need to show the PayPal address, which this does not. I am hopefully misreading your suggestion that the OP commits fraud.

When i had a PO BOX - i was surprised to learn that the LAW states that people had a right to know where the holder of the PO box lived.

Although that was via Royal Mail - i should assume there may be some way of getting the same info from the mail forwarding service.

I have refused to post many items to mail forwarding services - as i like to know where my item is going. Unfortunately - they are not always easy to spot. And they often now forward to buyers overseas - further complicating the matter.

I always check addresses before posting - and if the postcode is wrong - i correct it.

Often thought i am shooting myself in the foot, when it comes to seller protection - as they won't match.
