I work that out at 4p per kWh before boiler inefficiencies... not bad.
Nope because I've never bought from them direct.
I've only ever trialled a couple of packs from home bargains.
What's the offer?0 -
I'm only on the list because I got one of their free sample packs once.
£189 delivered for 900kg of "broken" briquettes delivered. "Broken" apparently means some longer, most shorter than the standard 30cm.
If a tonne is 4800kWh then 900kg is 4320kWh... 18900/4320 = 4.37p/kWh. That's a tad under the Luxury Wood company offer, which was also pretty good.0 -
The briquettes were delivered today. The delivery note actually said 1 tonne, which is a bonus, assuming it was a tonne (I have no way of checking!). Takes us below 4p per kWh! But the dumpy bag was massive and sat on one pallet, very high.
As I said, the briquettes are broken. The average is between 1/3 to 1/2 of the normal size. The are some very small ones and some very long ones.
I actually think the fact they are broken is positive, I can use those to get the fire going then use my unbroken aspen logs for the main burn.0 -
I'd probably agree that having them "broken" wouldn't be a massive issue for myself.
I tend to break them down a bit when i use them anyway.
I guess the only issue you have is if they are honest about how much you are getting as it's hard to check when compared to a pre-packed set.0 -
Fair point. Suppose that's the issue with all dumpy bag deliveries. Unless you have a weigh station
I guess the logistics firm are a second layer of validation, but not sure how true that is in reality. 0
