DVLA Failure to relicense

Just thought I should happily report: my letters to the DVLA resulted in the cancellation of the penalty. (See further up the thread)

Lessons learned here are never rely on the form, and that road tax has changed - you no longer need the form anyway. But not many people know this and most still queue at the post office.

But mistakes are still made from organisations such as the DVLA and people cannot expect to remember everything in life. At least the outcome was good in the end for myself. I'm pleased the DVLA acknowledges human error.
