No, no and NO!_pale_ I get all my eggs from the farmers market, and they usually come with a liberal coating of chicken-poo. OK, I can wash them before use, but even so, re-using the water I've boiled them in is an MSE too far for me, I'm afraid. I'd chuck it in the herb pots on the patio, but that's as far as I'd go to re-using it.

Btw, as people have mentioned flushing the loo - I use the water collected in the dehumidifier for this purpose.;)

when cooking a keema I wash an egg or two and pop in to boil with rice,

When boiling an egg will letter water cool to water plants (I do not add salt) or if late at night use in hotwater bottle

I worked with a bloke that used to boil eggs on the morning shift end make tea with the water.
I would try most things but could not get my head around that.

My DH went to boarding school and he told me that tea was made with the boiled egg water - and it tasted foul apparently! (not that I'm surprised - it sounds pretty foul)

I'm sure i've read that boiled water is good to put in your iron, or to top-up a car battery.

  • No I wouldn't,but I have heard that you can use the water to water your plants,as it's full of minerals. This is what I do,when I remember.

Now I've found out it's laden with minerals I would reuse the water in soup or something maybe IF I'd washed the eggs first, but generally although I'm on a water metre I see the fuel used to to heat the water as the main expense so I use the water to soak or rinse things waiting to be washed up

With the amount of rain we've been having and the resulting mud in the field my chickens are in, no way would I use the egg water to cook rice. The eggs get covered in mud and poo and need a good scrub before using.
