Would you reuse water you boiled eggs in?

Odd question, but this came up on facebook earlier after I saw a curried eggs recipe (Jack Monroe) that said use the water you boiled the eggs in to cook the rice...
I commented that I found that a bit gross. I have previously considered using the water then dismissed the idea as it seemed a bit yucky... Even worse now as my eggs come from neighbours and are sometimes not that clean!
Anyway, what are your thoughts on this?

Sorry, I don't see the problem - the water has been boiled.

I worked with a bloke that used to boil eggs on the morning shift and make tea with the water.
I would try most things but could not get my head around that.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
er - try tasting the water eggs have been boiled in! yeeeuch! not to mention that I add a dash of vinegar when boiling eggs (if they crack then it helps 'seal' the crack and you don't get white all over the pan).0

I probably wouldn't either, unless I really couldn't afford a few cups of water from the tap - even those on a meter would struggle to justify it for the sake of a penny or less. If you must find a use for eggy water, put it on your plants. The calcium from the eggshells is meant to be good for plants, isn't it?Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

Have any of you ever watched extreme cheapskates? Some of the stuff on there makes reusing egg water seem mild.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Hi
I've seen Jamie Oliver boil eggs & potatoes in the same pan at the same time so that you only use one pan.

I wouldn't re-use the water which had eggshells in it; they're the bit that gets hen poo on it.0

Nope.
I keep chickens and keep them clean and I still wouldn't do it. Water plants with it to reuse it.0
