    no.. absolutely not.. it's revolting..

I eat anything.. use by dates mean nothing to me, yet this is gross.. water is fairly cheap and I'd rather spend a few pence more than reuse it.. consuming bacteria and chicken sh-poop from the shells is not very appetising.. as clean as any chooks are, they aren't very particular about where they poo.

That's nothing - I discovered that my elderly auntie who is very frugal with water was emptying her copper hot water bottle into the kettle each morning so the water got used for drinks through the day!
  • Nope! I'd maybe use it to boil more eggs, but the water would be where the chicken poo would stay!

    Nonononono! Just wrong!

I must admit I have just read the post from Jack Monroe and I too wouldn't use the same water,I always use it to water house plants with.

But then I do also use the water run from the shower in the summer thats come down from my roof water tamk before it runs warm.I have a large bucket that I stick under the shower head and while its running cold it fills up the bucket.Once it starts to warm up I switch of my shower and put the bucket in the conservatory and after having my shower and dressing it gets used in the garden to water shubs etc.I am on metered water and it just seemed a waste to let it go down the drain.Even with all the rain we are having at the moment water is not a finite commodity and should't be watsed if at all possible.I am trying to imagine what empty hot water bottle water would taste like ...eugh not not that either I think :):):)

I'm liking this idea but for ME, I think it would work to use the water in the bucket to flush the toilet next time it's used - Thank you :T

I think the point is that the water is already hot thus saving fuel but no I would not.

Water may not cost very much, but it is not free.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)
