All I know is that if my husband bought me something so naff, tacky and cheap as that bear globe (or anything from Poundland tbh), at any time of the year, I would break it myself.......right over his head.....
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -

The teddies that can get into all sorts of mischief, I think.
I hope the little one is okay and wasn't upset or frightened by the experience. In no way do I think the op is right, I was just thinking about how my little girl would react. But I wouldn't let her down in a place with breakables.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Check out Clinton Cards and the Card Factory. They have valentines gifts specifically targeted at small children.
Anyone buying Valentine gifts for "small children", should really be worrying about things other than CE marks and age warnings.
Like a knock on the door from the Operation Yewtree squad!:eek:"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -

I don't think the teddies in Clintons (etc) ARE aimed at small children AT ALL. But that Clintons have 'covered their backs' by having the items CE tested and marked. Just in case a child is given one of these teddies;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

How can you tell glass globes from plastic ones? Common sense tells you not to put glass globes containing teddy bears on the bottom shelf facing the door but Poundland did.
Actually it does matter what items are categorized as. Toys require a CE mark to be legally sold in this country. Anything that could be taken to be a toy has, in my experience, carried the warning "This is not a toy". Any toy with unsuitable parts usually contains the warning "Not for children under x".
Common sense tells you to put the snowglobes or glass in general on the bottom shelf because by putting them on a higher shelf increases the likelyhood of them falling and definitely breaking and causing far more harm than if they were on the bottom shelf.0
