Poundland are selling glitter globes with teddy bears inside. They claim they are aimed at adults for Valentine's Day!! My partner's 2-year-old dropped one in store and it shattered leaving very thin jagged shards of glass which could easily sever an artery. Poundland refuse to withdraw them stating that they are not toys (!) and do not carry a CE mark. These were on the bottom shelf of my local store facing the door.
As Poundland refuse to do anything other than move them to a higher shelf I am trying all means to alert parents to the danger to avert potential disaster. Please spread the word.
Please read my reply later in this thread.

I think your partner needs to acquire some parenting skills and not allow her 2 year old to run amok in store.

They have said they are not Children's toys but they are classed as children's toys on many web sites. Simply stating that they are not toys does not make them not toys.

It does not matter one jot what other websites state about other websites globes. Why can you not understand this. If Poundland do not state they are toys and have no CE mark then they are not toys.

why is this hard for you to undertsand

Anyway I no longer see them in Poundland so perhaps my informing Trading Standards had some belated effect.

    In your dreams!

Valentines day is in 2 days & it's Poundland so they were only a quid. Obviously they have sold out, they'd hardly have wanted to order enough stock to keep them going months after Valentines day.

A dual policy perhaps including your OH and maybe you'll get your money back!

As this is a money saving site, there is one thing that you could do that won't cost you anything.

If you see anyone who allowing their 2 year old kids free rein to play with the shop displays, go elsewhere until they have left the store.
