I would most definitely not be calling them to ask if they were going through their insurance or not, I also doubt they would leave scuffed paint, not only does it look unprofessional it will cause future problems. Yes really you need to inform the police within twenty four hours.
I mean they can repair/paint it themself instead have all this headech with insurance.... why do I need to contact the police for?0 -

You need to contact the police as you need to report your accident. Insurance isn't a headache, it is much easier as they do all the work for you, instead of you having to chase a stranger.0 -
the another driver said that he called them and they said that they won't come as there was no one injured, ofcourse he only he was not lying to me about calling them as he was sat in his car talking on the phone to someoneYou need to contact the police as you need to report your accident. I did a little research on this and all the website I've seen say something like "Generally speaking the police do not need to be involved unless the accident involves an injury, the vehicles are causing a traffic hazard or you suspect that someone has broken the law."
Can someone else say their opinion if I need to contact the police or not please0 -
No you only need to call the police if someone has an injury that requires medical treatment .Be happy...;)0

Looking at the pictures, it would support a theory of the truck drifting lanes and colliding through not paying correct attention.
But it is your premiums.
Do you think he was on the phone during the collision ?Be happy...;)0 -

I am coming back by this road from work Mon-Fri for the last 2 years now and all the drivers drive from that lane in the same way I did in that accident and I used to go from the right lane to the middle late for the first while before as well but a few drivers started arguening with me and beeping, that's why I started doing it differently( like everyone else).... I was not saying I am right here, I was just asking for people's opinion matey0 -
No way did the lorry drift lanes. You even get an idea from one of the photos where paint (or similar) has left an arc on the road. OP should have stuck to left hand lane.0
