Do Sky repeat their new TV shows?

  • I wasn't sure if they would be reluctant to repeat shows, because there's money to be made from DVD boxsets (and from the DVD boxset service with the top Sky TV package apparently). But if they do then that's fine, I'll just go for the basic TV package.

Sky Don't receive any revenue from the sale of DVDs.

There is no"DVD" box set service with Sky's Top Package? Do you mean On Demand Box Sets? These don't provide a direct revenue stream to Sky; the idea is to encourage people to upgrade their subscription.
  • Yeah that's what I meant. That Sky might be reluctant to repeat shows to encourage people to upgrade to On Demand. But it sounds like not.

On Demand is not yet a deal maker or breaker, it's simply an added extra.
If Sky stopped repeating shows not only would they swiftly run out of programming, they'd alienate a lot of their subscribers who cannot watch multiple channels all at the same time even with a Sky+..

encourage people to upgrade to On Demand
On Demand is free for subscribers - no money to be made there. Unless you're talking about NowTV.

The Op meant upgrade to a package that gave her access to On Demand Box Sets etc. Such an upgraded package does provide more revenue for Sky.
  • Yeah that's what I meant. And I'm male by the way :P

I've decided to go for the basic Sky TV package anyway, seems to be enough for what I need.

    Thanks for the help

Sorry, Ian, I should have determined that from your user name. :)
  • No worries :)

Good Evening has anyone got any views on the above please. I have the basic sky package at the moment which has gone up from £21 to £24.50 in the last couple of years or so I've had it and wondering if I should change to something different or is Sky the best of the lot. Thank you
