Had a search for Tesco Direct but couldn't find anything. Any idea what James is referring to ?

I'm wondering if it is the time that someone won a chicken coop by using a poem they had plagiarised off the internet? Read more about chickengate here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3444143

Is he not referring to the person that won the chickens and coop and then came on here asking how to sell them on without the company knowing when they wanted to take pics of the hut being built or something like that?
think we should put this one to bed though, I completely agree with him about cheats and underhand tactics to win but going about it the way he does is a little troll like and at the end of the day if we keep bashing each other on company fb pages we're gonna find that companies will post less comps and we'll all lose out even the honest compers.
    alternative solution required perhaps?
Starting afresh - comping as much as poss!

Hoping for: some beauty goods, clothes, amazon vouchers, anime, manga, wardrobe, fridge freezer, laptop, an ipad, vouchers for next, exercise goods, a uk break and a wee hol somewhere nice!
    Wishing all a little luck:beer:

I don't think so because he said it was a Tesco Direct comp.

While I can understand his point about sharing FB referral links, I fail to see how anyone has an advantage from having comping friends on twitter?

I have a comping acocount on twitter & FB and the main reason is my few friends i have on my real FB & twitter accounts would get a bit peeved with RT's & shares

With regard to twitter they are just RT's anyway and the way i see it is the more you share it with that rt, the less chance you have anyway so it's not an advantage

He does, indeed, make some interesting points about the Aunt Bessie's / Cushelle threads, and made me question some of the things I enter.

I don't even use multiple phone numbers, let alone multiple identities to win on Twitter / Facebook / direct comps. But some do, and maybe that's where the grey area lies...

I don't really understand the questions raised about amelia4levi - it seemed to involve a pug and two iPads, and I was thoroughly confused reading that thread! But, equally, in the same way I believe we should stop self-promotion of comps on the forum, I do believe that we shouldn't look to praise someone who we can prove is a cheat. The operative word there being 'prove:' without evidence, any accusatory post is merely bullying...

And if there's one thing I hate more than a cheat, it's a bully...

Aunt Bessie's Hi James, participants aren’t permitted to enter Kitchen Ker-Ching by using free barcodes found on money saving sites but unfortunately due to the nature of the internet and people being able to share our barcodes freely online, entries in this manner are unavoidable. We can’t determine the origin of each barcode and whether it comes from a valid product, or if it has been sourced from a money saving forum. We will however get in touch with MSE and make an appeal for our barcodes to be removed from their forum. Thanks, the Aunt Bessie’s team.

Cue: a flurry of MSE compers C&P'ing the codes into their hard drives... :rotfl:

    :)

They'd be better off sacking their Marketing Team and getting ones who know how to run a comp securely.

I had sent a messaged to 'James Dyer' on FB ....this is his reply.

    James Dyer
Ruth , I would define a professional comper as somebody who uses various methods to give themselves an advantage over others when entering competitions . I have no problem whatsoever with anyone who enters competitions as a hobby, some people collect stamps , fish etc etc , when they are cheating it is a different matter . My main aim is to show that underhand tactics are being allowed by reputable sites such as MSE, a site that claims to be fair and impartial? They allow people to swap codes for items when purchases are asked for in the rules , they promote adding fake friends onto Facebook and Twitter to give yourself advantages
with referral links, they allow people to ask for votes from strangers ,they allow answers from crossword magazines to be shared among thousands , costing firms untold money . We have the Chicken debacle with Tesco Direct to show MSE in another light as one example. And many more I will not discuss or print until I get the ok from my legal team. My aim is not to bring any comper down personally, I have bigger fish to fry and also my own conscious would not allow that .I am purely going to show that certain sites are not as squeaky clean as they like to portray themselves as and this is a small part in a bigger story. My identity and 'hiding' is something I feel I need to protect with some of the work I do, I could put any picture up of anybody but why do I need to? if you don't want to take me seriously then fine , I did not ask you too in the first place and will feel no effect from it at all . I wish you all the best in all you do , and hope something nice comes your way very soon from your hobby . All the very best.

The style of writing, eg the gaps between the commas and full stops remind me of an old member of MSE, although i didn't think he could get internet connected where he was supposed to of gone.
Will be interesting to see the outcome of his findings
