The only things I don't put in are crystal glasses and non-stick bakeware (which don't get washed at all).

Everything else is fair game, wooden spoons, Kenwood bowls and accessories, roasting tins, extractor hood filters, tupperware, plastic bowls, the lot.

I used to put the pot stands a little round things in when I had a gas hob too.

Do not put children or pets in it. Clothes wash better in the washing machine.. other than that it can go in.

I bought a 25kg bag of potatoes once which I was horrified to find were muddy!!!!!! So... I put them in..

I find that some plastic containers go orange whether or not they have had tomato in.
Have never used salt as it is very soft water here and only use half a smart price A$da tablet each time.
I tend to give the inside of stainless steel pans a quick scrub round the cooking line, carrot and potato pans particularly as the 'scum' doesn't come off in the dishwasher.
Good luck, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it!

If you find stainless pans don't come clean with one wash, go round them with a stainless scourer rather than do what my son tries to do - put them back for another go.....

I am a dishwasher tart too.
Everything gets put in mine. I have a Costco clip off loo seat and that's goes in and the showerhead and hose bit as its helps get the lime scale off.

Glad I can hide behind the internet.

Even if they're not aluminium, oily car parts are a no-no. :)

I've got to disagree, my carb worked so much better after it had a dishwasher service, and my headlights came up lovely!
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

Having had to deal with a customer who drunkenly tried to wash her clothes in the dishwasher I second this!

We put most things in the dishwasher, with the exception of saucepans(take up too much room), bakeware/roasting tins and wooden chopping boards.

If we are going THAT far.. I put my mooncup in (in the cutlery basket.. it hasn't been in my new DW though as I've not had a period since I got it :p), the cat dishes (after soaking off the crusty bits) I have had potties in a few times (after being bleached) and light shades.. and my dustpan and brush..

Crocs have been in.. and spectacles.. and it brings duplo/happyleand up a treat.
