Lots of loans and no paperwork!

I wonder if anyone can help me...over the years, I have had several payday loans, long term loans, a credit card and an overdraft. I have now paid most debts off but am wondering if I will have had PPI on any of them that I can claim back? I have no paperwork for any of these loans, etc anymore...any suggestions on what to do please??? Thank you x

You don't claim it back, you put in a complaint if you feel the insurance was mis-sold, explaining why you feel it was mis-sold

    Eh?

There's a very popular MSE guide entitled

"Reclaim PPI for Free Claim £1,000s for mis-sold insurance"

    In particular Step 3 states:

"Write or phone the company that sold the policy and ask for a refund."

If that is not claiming it back, I don't know what is

    Does the guide need updating?

The word "claim" refers to what you do if you want to use the policy for what it was intended for. If you demand a refund due to mis-sale, then that is a complaint not a claim.

However, it's just semantics-all you need to do is have a valid complaint, preferably with verifiable reasons.

That's assuming you actually had any PPI, of course...

But the OP asks to "claim back" not put in a "claim".

Surely that can only mean claiming back any premiums paid.

The MSE article is nothing about making a claim on the policy.

It's hardly up to forum users to tell MSE to update their articles. To be honest, if any needs updating/overhauling it's the Bank Charges one rather than the PPI.

I thought this site was all about helping one another?

MSE invites comments on a special email address where an MSE'er feels a item requires updating.

In order to keep the extremely busy folks in MSE Towers happy, I would suggest you keep the messages to one article per email, explaining your reasons why ... with links to supporting evidence where appropriate :)
