I wonder if anyone can help me...over the years, I have had several payday loans, long term loans, a credit card and an overdraft. I have now paid most debts off but am wondering if I will have had PPI on any of them that I can claim back? I have no paperwork for any of these loans, etc anymore...any suggestions on what to do please??? Thank you x

You don't claim it back, you put in a complaint if you feel the insurance was mis-sold, explaining why you feel it was mis-soldEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Eh?
There's a very popular MSE guide entitled
"Reclaim PPI for Free Claim £1,000s for mis-sold insurance"
In particular Step 3 states:
"Write or phone the company that sold the policy and ask for a refund."
If that is not claiming it back, I don't know what is
Does the guide need updating?0 -

The word "claim" refers to what you do if you want to use the policy for what it was intended for. If you demand a refund due to mis-sale, then that is a complaint not a claim. If that is not claiming it back, I don't know what is
However, it's just semantics-all you need to do is have a valid complaint, preferably with verifiable reasons.
That's assuming you actually had any PPI, of course...0 -

But the OP asks to "claim back" not put in a "claim".
Surely that can only mean claiming back any premiums paid.
The MSE article is nothing about making a claim on the policy.0 -

I thought this site was all about helping one another?
MSE invites comments on a special email address where an MSE'er feels a item requires updating.
In order to keep the extremely busy folks in MSE Towers happy, I would suggest you keep the messages to one article per email, explaining your reasons why ... with links to supporting evidence where appropriate
